| I'm glad you did. I always enjoyed MerDer, not enough to continue watching for them though. I just always loved their chemistry and love for each other.
Thinking back about it, unlike Mark and Alex, Derek has always been nice with George, and he told Bailey he was a geek in high school (I think a joke back to PD's early days), and I loved how he told George he wasn't going anywhere in the finale. He was so tender with him.
So yes, Derek does make me think of an older George. He's probably the one guy I like on the show now that my beloved George and Denny are dead, though he has his bad moments.
I agree. George grew a lot, and he was finally showing his amazing potential as a doctor, the one we saw as early as the elevator surgery in season 2.
