WELCOME TO THE APPRECIATION THREAD FOR RUPERT'S NEW MOVIE "WILD TARGET"!
The full synopsis of the film is as follows (Rupert plays the young apprentice, Antoine):
Into the solitary life of middle-aged hitman, Victor Meynard, come two people: Antoine, a youth who becomes Victor’s apprentice, and Ren, a bold thief Victor’s been hired to kill because she cheated a mobster. When circumstances prevent Victor from killing her, the gangster sends two more teams to do it (and to dispatch Victor and Antoine). Victor decides to help Ren, and the unlikely trio ends up at his house with his temperamental mother; there, as they hide out, Victor’s attraction to Ren grows, she discovers his vocation and fears he’s going to kill her, and an ultimate showdown with their hunters is inevitable.
He'll be playing besides none other than great British actors Bill Nighy (Viktor) and Emily Blunt (Ren)!

Wild Target director Jonathan Lynn has updated his official site, stating that Rupert is indeed officially cast in the film:
"Jonathan is prepping this new comedy film, to be made in England and the Isle of Man. He starts shooting in London on September 16th, 2008, with Bill Nighy, Helena Bonham Carter Emily Blunt and Rupert Grint heading the cast. The screenplay is by playwright Lucinda Coxon, based on the 1993 French film "Cible Emouvante". The producer is Martin Pope."
