Steph!

Jump in more often.

So, hmm, Twilight. I don't want to sound too harsh or like I love to criticize for the sake of it, but... I found it so bad, lol.
The love story is based on the fact that Edward being a vampire can pretty much charm everyone around him (his potential victims) and Bella is in awe of him, he falls in love with her because even being a mind-reader, he can't read her mind and that picked up his interest, along with the fact that Bella's blood smells and tastes better than any other blood on the planet to him. Bella, on her hand, develops an epic crush on this too-good-and-too-beautiful-to-be true guy, and worries that she isn't cool enough for him. Edward wants to know a lot about her, but mostly he simply interrogates her on her past, her parents, her tastes.
And boom, just like that it's love forever and ever. Bella is 17, but Edward is 118 so you would think he's a bit more rational or deep. Nope.

But the worst part of it is how Edward is always saving her ass, or being overprotective, or jealous, or making sure no one sniffes around her. There are some scenes where Bella sits on his laps like a little girl and they annoyed me, along with Edward's patronizing tone.

On that aspect, the movies spares you those cringe-worthy moments. It also fixes the fact that in the book nothing happens until the last chapters, when some bad guys arrives and Bella is in danger - in the movie they're introduced almost from the get go. And you're spared Meyers' bad writing.

The film felt rushed though, and that makes some stuff harder to take seriously.

I really wanted to see what's so cool in this story to make it such a hit, but I failed.
