My SD used to do the same thing, only in reverse. If you had too many snow days, they'd lengthen your school year, just because the school board got a certain amount of money for a certain number of school days or something. I know they cancel on account of wind chill, too. Is it really cold where you are? It might be the school board decided that it is too cold for small children to go out for the bus today, and across the board they cancel classes.
