Here is an update on today`s matches.
First of all in the marquee match, Fernando Gonzalez defeated Andy Murray 6-3, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4. Not much of a surprise that Gonzo won, but it was surprising that he bageled Andy.
Also Robin Soderling continues his continues his great run as shockingly routed Nikolay Davydenko 6-1, 6-3, 6-1. This is pretty surprising that Robin defeated the usually solid Kolya in such a convincingly manner.
Meanwhile on the ladies` side, Dinara Safina got her first test of the tournament, but came out with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Victoria Azarenka, while in the other match, well the only thing i have to say about it is
what happened Maria?  
So that`s the story on today`s matches. Tomorrow the quarterfinals will continue as Fed will take on Gael, Tommy Robredo will face Juan Del Potro, Serena Williams will play Svetlana Kuznetsova and Sorana Cirstea will take on Samantha Stosur. |
