| pretty art KL Quote: That is so Max and Liz. | everytime i read a description of what soulmates are M&L are the only ones that are really like soulmates are pictured Quote:
I believe making it all about who Max was supposed to love and be with instead of him learning and saving planets was the big downfall.
| totally.
it was simply ridiculous and a very pathetic way in order to start a new relationship Quote: |
Then again, there was no trustworthy friend or ally that could help Max without trying to get ahead themselves anyway.
| exactly Quote:
Max could be a king and love and marry who he wanted, I never saw that as a requirement to save Antar or Earth except in Nasedo and Tess's mind. I noticed Kal's response after Max was telling him about saving his son. Very telling indeed. | yep. and casually Nacedo and Tess had a deal with Kivar where a son from Max was needed
no wonder why in the second season destiny "casually" and suddenly started to be only about Max and not Michael and Isabel too like it was said at the beginning.
Both Nacedo and Tess didn't really care about Michael and Isabel, they just needed Max.
Kal's response is very telling indeed just like the cut scene when he told Max "you idiot you slept with the enemy" that later, in the aired episode, was still quoted by Max when he said "you were right i slept with the enemy" Quote:
Awww, just the thought of Max and Liz having kids warms my heart. And a son with healing powers like his father is very special. | it's very special indeed
in the books i remember that M&L saw the little boy healing a small injury on his little sister <3 Quote: |
Max was honorable and would do everything in his power to help and save his son, even if he really didn't have the help that he needed. Max was a teenaged father trying to do the right thing, and he learned a lot of hard lessons along the way. There was a strain on his relationships with Liz and his family, but Max realized he was making mistakes and made up for them the best way that he could.
| agree. Quote: |
Liz was mature in helping Max find his son by an enemy who killed her best friend. There are not many girls/women who would stand by a guy trying to find his son made with another girl.
| really. I have to say that in her place Tess would have killed the baby it figures if she would have helped Max. that's sci.fi Quote: |
Liz also knew that her lying to Max and never telling him about FMax until after he slept with the enemy made her feel guilty too.
| exactly. she knew that what had happened wasn't his fault only
they both took their own responsibilities and "forgave" each other Quote: |
Liz never trusted Tess, but she trusted a future version of the guy that she loved that backfired on her. Every time I think about TEOTW and how Max and Liz being in love and together was supposed to destroy the world, but Max and Tess being together was supposed to save it - I literally cringe. Of all the hogwash and crap that Max and Liz had to go through only to end up together anyway, I wish TPTB would have chosen another route.
| when you have an amazing couple like M&L with a great build up and a guy who is crazy in love with his girl how can you put him with another random girl who is a stranger for him? you have no way.
that's where the stupid storyline was created. M&T were always based on forced things and choices. They were never based on genuine love and free will. they were forced beyond limits, i can't think about another fictional couple so forced like them. Max HAD to be with her. His feelings were TOTALLY irrelevant and unimportant both for Tess and the people who love her and them together. HE MUST BE with her. period. No matter if there was no reason.
TEOTW only made it even worse and cheapened everything about M&T even more than before. A couple can't be based on the sacrifice of the happiness of the two people who really love each other. Also what kind of relationship can be the one when you know without a doubt that he's with her just because he can't be with the one he really loves? Just because he doesn't know the whole truth.
Because if Max had know the truth about Liz things would have been totally different even before departure. And even when he didn't know the truth and he was free to date who he wanted Tess didn't get a chance for the whole year. She had to take advantage of the worst moment of his life and even then it was obvious that he didn't really want to be with her and it was a mistake for him, something he regretted. (and he even said it)
They had to make Liz lie to him in order to separate them but even then Max never stopped to love Liz. he didn't know the truth, he thought that Liz didn't love him anymore. He was even leaving the planet with another woman, still he never stopped to love only her.
so the only good thing about TEOTW is how it proved that even if you try to change the future you can't change Max's feelings for her and their love.
In the end their love always prevailed. They totally belong together.
With them there's no "maybe" or "if" because we even got the alternatives and possibilities but they always end up together, married and happy.
You just can't force love no matter how hard you try. Quote:
That scene is amazing! I love your icon and the arts Coccy! | thank you ^^ Quote: |
So true! You're right about "triangles," and I never saw Max torn between Liz and Tess. Liz left Max, and then continually lied to him and pushed him towards his 'destiny.' By the time Departure rolled around, Max had already knocked Tess up and wished things could have been different, but was honorable in his duty. Well...that was until Tess's true colors came out, and Max had no choice but to stay on Earth. Max was stuck on Earth, but he still didn't have to pursue Liz. Max wanted to be with Liz because he loved her and she loved him. TPTB should have shown Max and Liz having a good and long talk about FMax and the Tess mess before showing them dating again. But I believe they tried to clean up a mess and crap that shouldn't have been done in the first place.
| i agree.
i also don't think that "stuck on Earth" is a phrase that can be used for Max&Co because they never wanted to leave earth, in the first place
Max was always forced by the need to save his son but he never wanted to go there because he wanted it or saw the planet as his home.
He had to do it but even when he wanted to try in the third season it was clear that his idea was to go there take the baby and then come back asap.
It was clear like water that the aliens didn't want to leave this planet and no wonder why. their life is there. the people they love are there.
Only Tess really wanted to go on antar because she had nothing in earth.
then she had to come back here when she discovered that antar wasn't so good like she had always thought and that the "queen" wasn't welcomed with open arms like she had dreamed. |
