Max can always be a king if it's really needed (and i mean, REALLY. Not legends or just words. Something concrete)

But this have nothing to do with his wife (even if i have to say that if a wife is really needed then Liz is perfect. She's his sane voice, she always gave him good advices and saved his life more than once) It would be funny if he will have a hybrid child with Liz (in the season four books their son got his healing power, for example) anyway we can say that even Kal supported his relationship with Liz remember the advice?
but really... no one cared about his romantic life. and if they really wanted to control it.. then screw them!

personally i didn't mind Max trying to find his son (he was the father, mommy was evil but the baby was innocent and needed his help) .. also it lasted.. how many episodes? if we want to be honest he really searched him only in one episode (control) but then he realized the mistake he was almost doing when he wasn't using his brain and he basically stopped to search because the price to pay was too high (plain and simple: he couldn't lose Liz. When he realized that he did almost lose her it destroyed him. he had to face that it was a research that could give him no results since he had nothing really useful to use. this doesn't mean that he didn't love the baby.. but he couldn't lose everything for nothing and he didn't want to lose Liz so he got the lesson and never made the same mistake again)

i love that Liz wanted to help him and supported him. It was mature, i can't see another woman doing the same thing in the same situation. I love that she understood him and she understood that he needed her in that moment even if that meant that she was pushing some of her feelings aside (for a while). But the season was balanced for them because at the beginning of the season she was the one helping him then when she was the one who needed help he was there for her and well.. he did everything for her, he even died trying to protect her.

of course the writers could have avoided the baby's storyline because it was sooo soap opera and it will always hurt Max (and Liz because she loves him and she doesn't want him to suffer). he, they, didn't need that too. Their life was already complex and they had already experienced so many bad things.

anyway if we think about it Max never had it easy. 3 years and all hard for many reasons. The only times he was really happy were the times he was with Liz.
at least in the end he, they, got their happy end and he finally found peace.

i hope that the first one isn't Bill and Sukie from true blood because no offense for the fans but that couple is nothing to take too seriously the show is funny and ridiculous in many ways.

anyway if i have to choose i obviously choose Max and Liz with no doubt.
I also think that they're the best because they're like the only one couple that the writers didn't really ruin. I mean, the triangle between A&B and B&S was real, the same happened with other main couples. and when triangles are really developed the end is always kinda unsatisfying no matter if your couple "wins"

But really if you think about it M&L are one of the few couples not really ruined by the writers with the triangles. Surely the whole tex storyline wasn't needed but it lasted only one episode and it was always clear beyond limits that Max loved Liz and he wanted her but he just thought that she didn't want him back. It was always obvious that Max and Liz loved and wanted each other only. The other people were only very temporarily rebounds and when they were with them you could clearly see that their hearts weren't into the " new relationship". Just look at M&T or S&L kisses. The difference between those and the dreamer ones is immense. Only one blind and delusional won't notice it.
and i mean, i've read comments by non-dreamers people who said the same thing. It always was Max and Liz, no matter what.

so we can't say that their triangle was real for example because a real triangle is the one where the person in the middle (example Max) is really torn between two people. But Max never was like that. Max knew who he wanted and who he loved and nothing could change it. Nothing changed it. But since he couldn't have the one he loved he was on rebound and when he did it? a YEAR after his break up with Liz and only when he was into a bad state

the "triangle" didn't divide M&L it only made them stronger. Also they never were perfect people but it's not that they broke up because they really wanted it or because they weren't sure about their feelings for each other. It always happened for things that weren't really under their control.

when i think about it i think that we dreamers are lucky especially compared to other tv-shows and couples. again the whole tex thing and the baby storyline wasn't needed but it didn't really ruin them we got another season where they won against what had happened to them, we have many amazing moments between them. we have them finally happy and we have a perfect ending with them married and hopeful
other fans aren't so lucky.
