| Welcome MTVVJ08!
I just have to post this Max and Liz won the second place at lovetripper.com in Romance Hall of Fame top 10 Sci-Fi TV Couples Category! Just as one touch of the hero's healing hand left its imprint on the show's heroine, the cosmic connection between a girl and her celestial soul mate has left an impression on the hearts of devoted Dreamers which, years after Roswell's final episode, has yet to fade away.
Over the course of three seasons, fans followed the love story of Max Evans (portrayed by actor Jason Behr), an alien hybrid from the famed Roswell incident who defies his stars to be with Liz Parker (played by actress Shiri Appleby), and in so doing this modern Romeo and Juliet create their own destiny.
(candies are there too #8. Roswell rulezzzz)
i just discovered it, I didn't know about that before the poll ended otherwise i would have voted too (if i'm not wrong you were supposed to vote by email) but i'm happy that other people voted them!!!!
I love the comments people made about them
here some of my fav: Quote: |
Max and Liz are the definition of love. They are the only couple I've ever seen that portrays love perfectly. They show you that love is when you would do absolutely ANYTHING for the other person. It's about being there for each other 100% and even though times get hard, you know everything is going to be okay because of one single look or smile from the one you love. You trust them fully no matter what. They show you that love is difficult and being in a relationship is difficult but if you just give it a shot, it will all be worth it.-- Michelle

Their love surpassed boundaries and what they have is nothing I've seen before in other shows. They really set the bar higher...-- Anna

I think this is the most romantic couple because even though Max was different, he always acted out with more human kindness than any other actual human being would. He tried to compensate for his being different and that made him so much better to love. Liz stayed by Max through everything, even though the situation with Tess was hard and it did cause her alot of heartache, she loved Max more than her own life as he loved her. They always treated each other with respect and with kindness and like I said, even though they had very hard times and their relationship was almost impossible to continue, they did it and they conquered every challenge. I think this is by far the best love story and Romantic Couple I've seen. They deserve to win because when I watch Roswell and see them together, it gives me tingles and makes me wish I had people like Max Evans & Liz Parker on my side.-- Jessica

They were born to love each other, they loved each other before they knew each other, and soul mates should never be apart.
Anyone who can stand the tests of time as they did/do, should be the couple of the century...She sacrificed and so did he. True love only comes once and when destiny calls, you take it.-- Lori

Of all the TV couples that I have seen those two made it look the most real. The looks that they gave each other made you see
two people that were truly in love. The emotion between them felt real the good and the bad times, it made feel part of them. You wanted to find someone to share those kind of feelings with.-- Robert

In MitC, when Rath was talking crap to Max about not taking the deal, Max said "I am the man." Max was standing up for himself, but I can't see Max saying something like that either. I believe Max is way better than Zan too. | oh i forgot about that line Quote:
That's why I didn't care for the kings, queens, and countrymen aspect of Roswell. Trying to decipher all that was given to us gives me a headache. I just LOVE Max Evans, a half-human teenaged guy trying to live his life on Earth without all the drama, and with the love of his life. | i think that they made a mistake when they changed their back story/origins and transformed it into a thing about kings, princesses etc etc-
In the original story it's so much more believable and simple. The royal four thing was so damn stupid and cliché
not to mention that it never made sense and it was so contradictory that it became pathetic and i think that it only ruined the show.
in the original story i love that Max&Co were simply the children of normal "antarians" who died trying to save them
the whole thing about their origins seems way more intimate, more real. Less cold like in the television series where Max&Co were basically engineered and they were clones.
At one point i remember that Max got the chance to sense the presence of his original parents, it was sweet even if it lasted for a very small moment. Also Michael for example had a brother and he met him. Quote: |
So true! I don't remember anyone giving Max helpful info that he could use to save Antar. It seemed Nasedo, Tess, Skins, Dupes, Kal, and even mommy dearest had something important to say, but nothing concrete to help Max with his purpose. I believe Max was better off in the end giving up the throne, and living his life the way he wanted and whoever he wanted to live it with!
| good observation.
it's one of the reason of why i roll my eyes at the royal four storyline. Because it was useless. Max needed to be a king.. ok but why? the lack of concreteness and real believable reasons was so obvious.
also the whole thing about the royal four saving antar was so lame.
they had no useful informations, the destiny book got translated by a human because they weren't able to understand that language, they had no allies here in earth, they had only one spaceship, the granolith, that they couldn't use twice. Their protectors were enemies and sucked bit time.
I really don't understand how four teenagers with no acknowledge and no allies could have saved a whole planet and kill Kivar&Co. come on!
Not to mention that they were actually 3 people not four if you consider that Tess was an enemy too and Kivar&Co were her allies
also the funny thing is that no one ever asked for Max&Co help. i'm talking about the antarians. We know that they were able to contact them if they wanted (think about Kivar and Brody) but it never happened. No one, in 3 years, ever went to Max in order to tell him "we want you back King". no one. it's very telling.
honestly, it seems to me that the antarians didn't give a single damn about Max&Co.
even in the third season Tess had to return here in order to save herself and her son. I understand that she was a betrayer but the baby was innocent and he was Max's baby too. Still, no one of the supposed "supporters" of the royal four tried to save him from Kivar. If they had tried you can bet that Tess wouldn't have returned into a planet she hated with passion especially when she knew that Max&Co hated her.
from what we know the antarians are pretty fine with Kivar as the king. actions speak louder than words and legends |
