true. Until Maria had Michael's attention

the funny thing is that Isabel was the one who dated normal guys since the very beginning. It was implied that she was dating even before the pilot
this because she had her fake normal life with her fake friends.
I'm glad that she got rid of those stupid girls, at one point.

anyway we can say that deep down Isabel was a dreamer too

some Isabel quotes

Leaving Normal

(At Evans home, Max is lying on bed and and sees Isabel looking down at him while wearing a Crashdown uniform)
Max: No way!
Isabel: Shut up. Temporary situation.
Max: Why are you...? You're covering for Liz, aren't you?
Isabel: So...depressed? Feeling sorry for yourself? Angry at the world?
Max: All of the above.
Isabel: Listen, I heard Liz's Grandma isn't doing so well. She could probably use someone to talk to.
Max: She's got Maria. She's got Kyle. (aww)
Isabel: Who did she call when she first found out?
Max: You're the one who's always telling me I have to stay away from her. What are you saying, Is?
Isabel: I'm just saying that, you know, if something like this happened to Grandma or grandpa, I wouldn't want to be kept away from who I really needed.

love that scene
also.. Max was always listening to the counting crows when he was sad

leaving normal is one of my fav dreamer scenes.
i love how they tried to stay away but they couldn't. Liz called him, she knew that it was "against the rules" but she needed *him*. And he went to her, no matter what. in the end when her grandmama died he was there for her and he comforted her without words needed. He was just there.
She cried only in his arms just like he cried only in hers.

Max in the city

ISABEL: Liz...take my hand.
LIZ: I don't know why, but I'm really scared to do this. You know, if you can't contact him, what makes you think I can?
ISABEL: I know my brother, and I know that if there is one voice he will hear no matter where he is, no matter what he's doing, it's yours. Take my hand, Liz.

in the uncut version what she really said was
"Because he loves you, Liz. He loves
you more than anything in this world. I know that. For all that's
happened...for all the pain the two of you have caused each other...I
know my brother...and I know that if there is one voice he will hear no
matter where he is or what he's doing...it's yours."

but i like the definitive version too because the meaning is pretty the same

Max in the city is such a subtle dreamer episode
above all Max was angry with Liz in that moment, he was so hurt. But still she was the only voice he listened to
and i'm not talking only about the scene when she saved him.
He listened to her advice about the granolith too.
That was the reason of why he didn't fall in Nicholas' trap and said "no". she saved him twice.
he remembered what she had told him and he couldn't stop to think about it and what she meant. Eventually he trusted her even without knowing the truth and why she had told him that.
Also Liz, from Roswell, was able to connect to him when his sister couldn't. She was the only one able to do it. A human he healed and loved.
She connected to him and she saved his life.
Liz from roswell was *there* with him and concretely *helped* him more than the people that were physically there with him. Very telling.
The episode proved again what an amazing bond they share. The can be in two different cities and they're still connected to each other.
Just like in third season Liz was in Vermont and felt it when Max died.

another very telling thing in the episode is what Ava-dupe said about her and Zan. It was another proof that destiny always fails no matter if there's a "Liz" or not. It's destiny itself that doesn't work.
The message was clear: You can't create love.
Max didn't love his programmed mate. Zan, his dupe, didn't love his either. And not because he loved another woman like Max (Zan didn't have his "Liz", he didn't find his soulmate like Max did. Maybe one day he would have found his soulmate too into another human woman.. who knows. or maybe Max was the lucky one. not all the people can find their soulmate) it just didn't work. If destiny couldn't work for Zan who didn't love another woman it figures if it could have worked for Max who did find his soulmate since he was just a boy

another thing that i love in the episode is the ending scene when Max went to Liz with everything by lifehouse as the background music

and what about a roswell xmas carol when he went to her? when he said that he believed in her?

other quotes:
significant others
Isabel: No matter how much it screws up her life (Liz's) , you still have each other. Isn't that the most important thing?

...

another scene i like is the one from who died and made you a king when Isabel was sad because Jesse left her but this also made her understand how her brother could feel in that moment
Isabel: How's Liz?
Max: Cautious. And she has every right to be, but...
Isabel: It's not easy.
Max: Yeah.

and he was so cute when he tried to ask her (Liz) for a date. so hopeful.
he was giving her the right space but at the same he couldn't help but miss her..
i guess that in the end it worked because she wasn't able to say "no" to him for too long

exactly!
i love how mature she was, she saw beyond Isabel's bad personality and understood her without her explaining herself.

Yes. I love the scene in "Heatwave" where she and Liz were sitting down polishing their toes. A nice sisterly bonding seem to be taking place there.
it was a cute scene
i would have loved to see more scenes like that one, not only with them but all the girls. a normal moment between girls.

Agreed. They clicked unlike with Tess. The funny thing is that Isabel and Tess started out as friends first when the latter came into town but it seemed so weird.
because she manipulated her. Tess got her attention because she wanted to get her attention so her 'scenes' when she talked with Isabel were all programmed and fake not genuine and Isabel realized it.

Some people always whine about the other characters saying that they didn't welcome Tess so much. The problem is that they totally forget that the way she introduced herself wasn't so friendly nor it can be acceptable for every social group. She manipulated them. She lied. She used her powers on them.
Think about Isabel. How she could be friends with Tess after she manipulate her and after she discovered that she had mind warped her brother trying to seduce him?
i also think that they resented Tess because for her and Nacedo's fault their life couldn't be the same anyone. Max got captured and tortured by the FBI for their fault because Pierce followed Nacedo. also before them they always thought that they were all siblings and they had parents.. then they suddenly discovered that they were "engineered". they were artificial. they were clones created with the purpose to take the place of their donors, to be used.

i can totally understand why she couldn't be treated like a friend, like if nothing had happened.
and actually they were all right about her didn't they?
it's because they trusted her and let her in that in the end Alex died.

Wow, thanks for the link. To me it seemed like their was nothing subtle about that article but I suppose its because the writer followed up her comment with the explicit mention of Jason Behr as that "bad breakup". Ouch. I'm more than a little surprise to see it in print.
her bitter comments tell me that she wasn't the one who ended their relationship
Jason for example is always polite, when they asked him about her and if they were still friends he changed the question by transforming it into a question about the whole roswell cast. He never made a comment about her. he never talks about her, at all.
