I'm pretty sure all of us have been in this fandom long enough to know that whatever Chad would say, people would believe what they want. I think money might have had a weight in his decision, but I don't believe it was the main thing. Chad has been talking about moving on to new projects for a couple of years already, way before his contract ended and negotiations were up. I think the best he and we can do now is looking forward. OTH has been very important to him and also to us, even people like me who unfortunately lost the love they used to have for this show. But now it's over. Personally, I really don't need him to come out and say he left for this or that reason. He clearly had a reason to leave, whatever it was, and I respect it. As I respect him for being always a gentleman and always dealing with the crap part of this fandom and the network and some press threw at him. His decision not to talk right now is a smart one and a confirmation of what he's always been: he has never let anyone drag him in discussions about anything. Whatever happened between him and the network, or him and some of the cast, he has always been a gentleman and never let himself been dragged in any kind of "war" on the press, even if a lot of times that meant to accept to be bashed to no end. He has given all of himself to One Tree Hill and One Tree Hill's fans for 6 years. The fans should appreciate it and let him move on. Hilarie making that video and giving this interview is very much in character, cause I think she's always been very much more open about her feelings about the show and everything else. But Chad's different, he's never been that kind of person. I think he left in the best way possible, which was to give so much of himself and his time to all the fans that went to Wilmington in the last weeks of filming. That was his way of saying thank you and goodbye. The best way possible in my opinion. All the rest is just words.
