Honestly, I think the Dawson character was initially presented, then continually written, in a way that made it impossible for any other character to change as much as he did. And maybe that's a good thing. I don't know if he was meant to be the focal character on the show (or at least as much as any one character can be in an ensemble like that) but it was called DAWSON'S Creek, so him making the great change makes the most sense to me...
It would have been a bit ridiculous for him to be the title character but stay exactly the same as he was at the age of 15. Though, knowing the writers on DC, they could have made it happen, couldn't they?  |
