| We liked the 'Star Trek' movie - JJ Abrams did not mess it up. :> Although the roads around the malls it was on weren't marked and very confusing and we made wrong turns and drove around and around and I thought we'd never get there on time! But we made it - and there were so many commercials and trailers and adverts, we shouldn't have worried about being late and were getting impatient for the movie to start.
All the movies they advertised looked horrible: Land of the Lost (Will Farrell), Year One (Jack Black and ? Michael Cera, cave guy thing), GI Joe (live action), and Terminator whatever with that foul-mouthed Christian Bale. The only one that looked halfway decent was Transformers 2.
Mr ML went home after the movie and I went to the party with my friends, which was more enjoyable than I thought - amazing how little people change in 25 years! Just a bit older, fatter, greyer, but basically still the same. Pretty nice bunch of people, I hadn't given a thought to in 25 year, but was surprised how many of them I remembered. Food was good, they had various videos and party games and it was a nice time. They gave me a ride home.
While I was gone, I assume my kids went shopping and making sneaky Mother's Day plans! I hope so. They asked what I wanted and I couldn't think of a single thing. MLette has to work, so we'll celebrate in the evening I guess, when she gets home. I was stressing about this ST thing, so I'm glad I don't have anything going on tomorrow.
Oh, and the morning before the movie, we took MLette to the eye doctor for an exam and to get glasses and it was taking her forever to pick some out/find some she liked and I was afraid we'd miss the movie. But it worked out and she's (finally) getting her glasses - I said I'd get her new glasses like for her birthday last August and it took this long to get it accomplished! But, wow, I had no idea glasses were so expensive! We have this eyeglass plan through work where you pay a little very week and can get a free pair of glasses each year -didn't realiZe what a great bargain it was!
Okay, bushed, off to bed. Oh, Ace of Cakes tonight they made the 100th show 'Lost' cake and the whole bakery went to Hawaii to make them the cake and then all the cast of the show came and were so happy. Especially Hurley, who is a huge cake fan (ahem maybe why he's so huge). He's gotten even heavier than before - starting to look like Dom Delouis (rest in peace). Anyway GNITE and Happy Mother's Day tomorrow! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" |
