Clark.
How great was he in this episode?

Wonderful first scene.
Wanting to give people hope. In full RBB mode.
Wardrobe malfunction! That was so Superman.

I love how his plan to get more info on Lex's journal was to get Tess drunk so she'd tell him what he wants to know. Hee, sneaky Clark. I love it.
Plus, Clark having a good tolerance to alcohol is now canon.

But I can't believe he believed Tess's abused childhood story so easily. Come on Clark, at least x-ray her to see if her arm was broken three times.

He's good with improvisation. I like how he managed to get Tess to lose consciousness.
And how cool did that jump out of the aeroplane look?!

I also liked how he managed to keep his cool in that last scene with Tess. Even though he suspected she knows his secret. He's getting better with the whole lying thing.

Ha ha ha, *loved* his "you can't be serious!" look when Chloe suggested he quits the Daily Planet. Priceless.
And I agree. He can't get scared and start running away every time he thinks someone will get close to finding out his secret.
I love this confident Clark, who stands for what he believes in no matter what. He's turning into Superman more and more with every episode. ♥

Speaking of...
That scene of him changing in the phonebooth? Brilliant.

Clex.
"I like to think that there was a time when Lex and I had a real friendship."
Clark standing up for Clex. It's a small quote, but it does my heart good. ♥

Tee hee, loved his reaction when Tess told him he was Lex's obsession.
"Did Lex talk to you about me. *small I'm pretending this question isn't important at all. [but it is] smile*"
FTW!

"He kept a journal."
"*gulp* What did it say?"

\o/
Oh Clex moments, it's so good to have you on the show again. I'm so happy I could cry.

And! The Chamber Of Clark Kent got a mention! Ha ha ha. I am loving this!
But how did Tess see all those things, the crushed Porsche and so on. Didn't Lex destroy it all in Devoted? Must go rewatch season 4.

"Lex was right about you Clark, there's not a bad bone in your body."
*smirk*
I nearly choked on my Coca Cola when I started laughing.
Thank you show! HoYay.

Chloe.
"You don't have to worry about Tess Mercer or me, all your attention should be on Jimmy."
Thank you Clark! My thoughts exactly.
The lengths at which Chloe has been neglecting Jimmy, and making everyone else her priority over him have gotten ridiculous over the last few episodes.

What the hell is wrong with this woman?!
First her husband almost gets turned into sushi at their wedding, but she doesn't stay by his side when he's in the hospital, even though she's unemployed and has time to do so. She rather spends her time drinking coffees with Clark, and hanging around Metropolis doing bob knows what. She spent more time with Oliver when he was in the hospital in Requiem than with Jimmy.
And then she takes Davis's word over Jimmy's?! Even though she saw that there was nothing wrong with the morphine machine the day before. She didn't even check with the nurses to see if the pump got broken, she just assumes right away that Jimmy is high and Davis is telling the truth! And runs after Davis to apologize for Jimmy, wallows in self-pity and hugs Davis (and where Jimmy can see them). I'm beyond disgusted.
Worst. Wife. Ever!!!

And lets not even get started on the whole teasing Jimmy thing!
She couldn't have shouted to stop him? Grab his hand and take away the pipe? No?
Her only solution is to teaser the guy who just spent 5 weeks in a hospital after life threatening injuries?
Feel the love.

I did love that Jimmy couldn't hold it all bottled down anymore, and told her how he felt and left her. It's refreshing *somebody* got called on their actions on this show.
I've been waiting for ages for them to call Lana on some of the stunts she pulled, but they never did. So this made for a nice change, how they didn't ignore it for once.

And preaching to Clark?! Telling him to quit the Daily Planet? Telling him his ability to trust others and always seeing good in people is what gets him into trouble? Earth to Chloe - it's what makes him who he is. That is *why* he'll be the big hero one day. That is what defines Superman. Trusting people, always seeing good in them, not giving up and giving everyone hope. Not to mention, he's a big boy, and he can face the consequences if he ends up putting his trust in someone who doesn't deserve it. It doesn't mean he shouldn't even *try*.
Seriously, I wish she'd stay the hell away from him, since she can't help bossing him around or giving crappy advice.

Jimmy.
Oh, you don't need pain meds, you need a shrink and something to knock you out to help you sleep, preferably without nightmares.
And he wasn't on pain meds when he saw Davis kill that guy, that is why he was out in the hallway to find a nurse and get some pain meds, so why did everyone think he was high on painkillers? Wouldn't the nurses notice he's not high? Wouldn't the police want a blood test to see how many drugs are in his system when they arrested Davis, based on what Jimmy told them?

And Jimmy honey, when coming face to face with a serial killer, especially after you find evidence to implicate them, don't stop and chat - yell so someone can hear you, run and get help!

I did like how he figured out the hallucination was real, because of the cut on his hand.
Though really, what did he plan to do with Davis? I know he knew Davis is the killer, but that there's no chance the police would believe him. But what, did he really think a guy like that would confess his crimes to Chloe just because he's handcuffed in an alley and Jimmy is glaring at him? It was pretty much a no win situation, and it didn't look like he thought it through.

I cheered his break up with Chloe.
That has been a long time coming, and I couldn't agree more with everything he said. She has been putting others before him for ages. It was about time for Jimmy to stand up for himself.
"Marrying you was the biggest mistake of my life."
You deserve better kiddo.

Here's hoping they get divorced, and Jimmy becomes the fun Daily Planet Jimmy from Identity, and not a doormat for Chloe.
Less love interests, more geeky photographer moments please.
So obviously, he has to take back his resignation at the Daily Planet. And can we skip the addiction storyline? Junkie (though for other reasons) Lana in Void was enough, thanks.
Should be interesting to see what Tess will do with Davis info...

Tess.
I love her so much! Her brain works at the same frequency as Lex's did.
Love how she crafted her plan to make Clark use his abilities.
"The sky is the limit."
Ha ha, subtle.

"We [Ollie & Tess] share all of our toys. *looks and smiles at Clark*"
Oh Tess, never change!

She played Clark like a violin. I bet the whole abused childhood story was fake, and she came up with it just so Clark would share a secret with her in return. Guh, truly a move worthy of Lex's successor. I wonder if there was a part on how to get Clark to do things in Lex's journal, and this was one of the suggestions?
"Clark, we all have deep, dark secrets. I just told you mine. Now tell me yours."
And there it is. Kudos Miss Mercer, Lex would have been proud.

"How's the weather looking in LA? *sits, puts down her glass and tries to look casual*"
Ha ha ha, I'm betting *everything* that that was the code to crash the plane.
This woman is freakin' brilliant!
She even took the Lex/Helen Flight of Doom, and turned it into a test for Clark! I am so damn impressed.

And that whole last scene with Clark at the mention. So Lexian.
There wasn't a parachute in that plane, was there?
And paying off the captain, like there was any doubt that's what she did.

Tess, please stay with us in season 9. You are simply too amazing.

Davis.
Opening scene made me smile, because it seems like Davis watched one Dexter episode too much. Mwah. He even got the Dark Avenger hoodie later in the hospital scene! Hilarious.

He finally looked more menacing in this episode. Probably because he was channelling Dexter.
But seriously, was he *so stupid* to just leave a body laying around in an ambulance?! Anyone could have found it! So incredibly idiotic.
But drugging Jimmy with bob knows what, to make him hallucinate, was a nice plan. I'll give him that.

What is with Doomsday horns thingies going away when Chloe put her hands on his shoulder?
Is it Chloe who's keeping the beast in line? If so, why her (especially since Brainiac is gone)?
Is it the fact that someone believes in him, and cares for him, that's allowing him to keep his humanity for a bit longer? Something like how Clark having the Kents to teach him morals and love him made him the man he is today?

Other stuff
:
Clark in a suit. Dayum!! Plot, who needs plot when there's *this*?
I'm very happy Tess called him on the backpack, because that thing so doesn't go with his new work clothes. Bless you Tess!
BTW Cassidy looked a bit like Jayne Brook with her hair straightened, y/y?
Goodbye GreenArrowPlane. Where is Ollie going to live now? Can they finally build him an apartment now?
Just how many pair of handcuffs does Jimmy own? OK, come to think of it - don't answer. I don't want to know. lol
Great end montage. Good song too, I Don't Care. I like Apocalyptica.
