| What really frustrates me is when they use that to deny Catholics who are voting for Obama communion. This is NOT a practice condoned by the Vatican (it can't be; it's too blatantly a contradiction of Catholic doctrine- although I have to say, I don't see the Vatican doing much beyond saying "Eh, don't do that" and looking the other way when it happens), but it happened pretty frequently prior to the last election. And I don't even think Joe Biden has been allowed to take the Eucharist in years. It's completely unfair to give those who vote Republican a free pass on ignoring the death penalty and then punish those who vote Democrat (or in the case of Joe Biden, those who are running as a Democrat). Neither party lines up with Catholic doctrine.
