Constance's curious nature use to be a trait Reese admired, but concerning her situation now it was something she did not look forward to. Reese had been able to divert the conversation towards Jamie, but how long before Constance asked her again why she was hiding in the shadows? Reese was happy to see Carly's daughter, but at the same time she wished this encounter could have been avoided. It was easier being invisible, no matter how painful that was. Reese was eager to learn about the life Constance and Jamie had made together, but when Constance's eyes reflected sadness her excitement faded. "You are together..." she trailed off, fearful of the answer. When Constance shook her head no Reese was in disbelief. Her son had worshiped the ground Constance Morgan walked on. How had he not gone after her? It just didn't make sense at all. When Constance explained that her life had taken a different direction after her mother's death Reese tried her best to be objective. Of course she would have her reasons. Reese had heard about Carly's passing and it still pained her to think of her friend dying in such a way. She had done it for love, for Jason. Reese could do nothing other than to admire that devotion. She would have done the same thing for Lorenzo. Thinking of her husband sent mixed emotions through Reese. She missed his voice, his arms around her so warm and safe...everything.
She had yet to see him since her timid return to Port Charles. Maybe that was for the best. Reese wasn't sure she could stop herself from going to him if he were to cross her path. It was funny to think that she had started off pining after Sonny Corinthos, because in the end the only man who had ever captured her heart was Lorenzo Alcazar. Constance assured Reese that Jamie and her were still best friends despite their inability to connect romantically and she smiled, happy at least for that information. Those two would always be part of each others lives. "Who then gave you that ring?" Constance averted her eyes and mentioned how Jamie needed his mother so much. He was experiencing a lot of difficult things at the moment. Concern for her son outweighed Reese's questions about Constance's husband for the time being, but she wondered why Constance hadn't answered happily about the man she loved. "What's happened with him, Constance? When I saw him he had this lost look. It wasn't how I remembered him...it scared me." Reese knew Jamie needed her as much as she needed him, but she just couldn't. It wasn't that easy. For now, having Constance tell her about her son was the best option available. __________________ You're beautiful baby from the outside in.
