OTH Board Guide & Rules – Everything You *Need* to Know!
Hello and welcome to the One Tree Hill Board! We hope you will enjoy the experience of posting here and become an active member of our community. 
Please read the Official Fan Forum Rules before posting on the board; in addition there are supplementary Rules for the One Tree Hill Board that are listed at the end of this thread. After reading the rules, please respond in a post on this thread that you have read and agree to adhere to the rules.

ONE TREE HILL BOARD THREAD LIST
NEW RULE, PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Due to the ever increasing number of shipper threads we have decided to limit shipper threads to the couples listed below. ALL other couples should be discussed in the "UC and Other Couples" thread. If however there is a shipper group with sufficient support we may be willing to grant a separate thread by request, at the moderator's discretion.
NEW RULE, PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Due to the ever increasing number of cast friendship threads, we ask that all friendships are discussed in the Cast Friendships thread. Thank you!

ONE TREE HILL BOARD RULES
Please read over the following rules. When you post on this board you are acknowledging that you have read and understood them. These rules are in addition to the ones that already exist at Fan Forum. Fan Forum is a dynamic community and we would like to keep it that way, so please follow the rules and regulations and help us to do so.
- BASHING
Bashing in any shape or form is not allowed on this board. This includes: Cast & crew, writers, fanbases and posters . Please try and be as respectful as you can to everyone involved in our community. Subtle comments will not be tolerated. The moderator team suggest that: If you suspect your post may cause offense to someone, reread your post with a clear head before submitting it.
- LANGUAGE
Fanforum is a PG-13 site. Please try and remember that we have young posters in our community. Keep bad/crude language out of all conversations. Thank you.
- DISCUSSION/OPINION THREADS
As you know by now, few of us will agree with each other when it comes to discussing all things OTH. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but please post them in a respectful manner that encourages thread oriented discussions.
- OTHER POSTERS OR FANBASES
Talking about what other posters/fan bases have said in their respective threads in another thread is not allowed. This is the same as the real life concept of "back biting" and is considered disrespectful.
- STARTING NEW THREAD TOPICS
Due to the high volume of daily posts and the numerous threads on the OTH board, we'd like to ask that all new thread ideas be brought to the moderators through PM for approval before they are posted. Various board dynamics and thread subject overlapping may keep us from approving certain thread requests. However, if there's an idea for a thread that falls within those dynamics, and you feel it will really add to the board discussion or environment, please PM one of us.
Given the high volume of UC combinations, we are no longer approving individual UC threads. The OTH Board General UC Thread can be found, here.
- THREAD TITLES
All thread titles should be directly about whichever actor/actress, character, or ship that the appreciation thread is designated for. Subtle digs at fan bases, characters, or ships will be edited. There should also be no use of any other character’s names except for those who the thread pertains to in any of the thread titles.
- OFF TOPIC
Please avoid excessive off topic conversations. The conversation in the thread should match the title of the designated thread.
- BACKBITING
Please do not move conversations from one thread to another in an attempt to mock, rant, or dispute the original poster’s opinion in another thread. It’s in poor taste and Fan Forum looks unfavorably upon it.
- LIVE JOURNAL AND OTHER BOARDS OUTSIDE FAN FORUM
Commenting about what anyone posts in their own LJ or on another board as a way to bring up conversations about any shipper, couple, friendship, poster, or episode should not take place on the OTH board at Fan Forum.
- PICTURE POSTS
Please limit posting of pictures to 3 pictures per post to help those posters with dial-up, to help ease the loading and reading of any given page. Posts that exceed the 3 picture limit will be edited to links. Also, to coincide with Fan Forum's HQ Rule, we ask that no pictures exceed 800 pixels in width. However, here on the OTH Board, we ask that no pictures exceed that size in width or length being it causes problems for many of our posters with dial-up.
Please do not post pictures that are not at all related to the topic of the thread; they will be edited.
Please respect the actors’ personal lives and refrain from posting personal pictures.
- OTH FANART THREAD
Please avoid double posting, bumping threads or quoting art.
- OTH NEWS THREAD
Please also keep in mind that we’d like to avoid any kind of gossip etc. in this thread, and instead keep it focused on published, or reported, or mentioned actual “news.”
Please remember that spoilers are not be posted anywhere on the OTH Fanforum board. To discuss spoilers, please visit the Spoilers board.
- OTH ICONS THREAD
Please do not post icons containing spoilers. Out of respect for those that are not spoiled, things that have not been shown in promos, should not be portrayed in avis, including any episode stills for future episodes, as Fan Forum's Rules state as well. Even if particular shots similar to a still are shown, in some capacity, in promos/sneak peaks, we feel it is more fair to follow a general and uniform rule.
Please credit icon makers who ask for credit, and please don’t move icons found in this thread to other sites, such as Xanga. We would also ask that you don't quote avatars when commenting on them.
- APPRECIATION THREADS
Please do not use Appreciation threads for anti sentiments. They are meant to discuss the couple or character in the thread topic and it is in our best interest to keep it that way. Thanks.
- SPOILERS
Please, no posting of spoilers of any kind on the OTH board, even with spoiler tags or disguised in "blank" posts. Spoiler tags aren't allowed on TV boards per FF general rules. Please take all spoiler discussion to the spoiler board.
Take notice that: spoilers include the posting of clips, episode stills, pictures from production/filming, and any other pictures/video that might give away story direction.

- MODERATORS
Any concerns or issues with a warning or reminder a moderator has posted in a thread should be handled through Private Message. If you have any concerns about moderator decisions at this board, please take those concerns to the Moderator Managers Team.
- AVATARS/ICONS AND SIGNATURES
According to the fanforum rules and guidelines anti-avatars and signatures are allowed. However, that does not mean that "anything goes". Avatars and signatures can be used as a form of bashing the same as posts, and bashing is against the rules. Please note the following clarifications regarding this matter:
Avatars & signatures which bash actors, writers/producers, fanbases, shipper groups or individual posters are not allowed. Offensive or bad language is not permitted.
Please use good judgment and respect in your forms of self-expression. If you are in doubt regarding your avatar or signature, please PM one of the moderators and we'd be glad to help you out.

- ANTI THREADS
Anti threads on the One Tree Hill board are not allowed. The moderators, along with the administrators of Fan Forum, have determined that anti threads are not an asset to this board, and are in fact the cause of the majority of the problems we encounter.
It is our strong desire that the One Tree Hill board be a complement to the show, a way of showing our cast, crew and writers our appreciation. Negativity and bashing are not a way of doing that. We suggest that you do the best you can to focus on the good and positive things from the show and keep our community a thriving place for positive discussion.
CONTACTING THE MODERATORS
In order to ensure this board is ran as smoothly as possible the high traffic shipper/character/ threads have been assigned two main moderators. If you have a question/comment concerning these threads please direct them towards one of the two moderators assigned to that thread. Of course, all of us will always be here, so if need be, or when in doubt, please contact any of us with any concerns. Most threads have not been assigned a specific moderator and comments about them can be directed at any one of us.
