One of the things that annoys me most about this subject is when people say they think people 'choose' to be gay/bisexual. I'm a lesbian and believe me, I did not choose to love women! My life would be so much easier if I could just switch off the lesbian in my brain, and be attracted to men! Being gay has ruined my relationship with someone I used to love, no one in my family knows that I'm gay and if I told them, I am almost 100% sure that it would destroy our relationship.
Why on earth would I have chosen to be attracted to women when it has caused me to keep so much of my life secret?! I have had girlfriends, I've fallen in love with girls, and it was an amazing feeling - but, it's something that I have had to keep from my parents and family because I'm scared about how they would react.

I'm not religious, I dont believe in any God, if I ever did get married, I wouldn't have the ceremony in a church, because I think it'd be dis-respectful. Getting married to someone, is not a religious ceremony for me.... it's about promising to love someone and share my life with them, it's nothing to do with whether there is a God.

There is something I've always wanted to know from people who are opposed to gay marriage..... why does it matter to you??
Really, how does it affect your life? You can get married to whoever you want! Wherever you want! You can adopt children! You can do anything you want. So, why stop some people from doing all those things as well? Does it really affect your life that much?
Because, I can promise you, it affects the lives of the people who you are banning from getting married, adopting, etc, much, much more.
