| Totally agree with what everyone else has said. All of the emphasis that was put on Ginny's love life, even before Harry himself had a romantic interest in her, was very telling. Whether she was crushing on Harry, had "given up" on Harry, was dating another bloke, or was finally dating Harry, JKR always made it a point to let the reader know the status of Ginny's love life. In fact, in OotP, Ginny's love life was arguably given even more attention than Ron's or Hermione's. There had to be a reason for that.
The only other non-Trio character besides Ginny whose love life received that kind of attention was Cho, and it's no coincidence that each of those two characters was a love interest for Harry. The reason we were told so much about the love life of each girl was because it was (or would eventually become) important to the hero of the story. __________________ "Hasn't changed much has he?"
