I understand Dean's pain too. It was clear he was hurting when he was saying all those things to Sammy. Like you pointed out, the "if I didn't know you, I would want to hunt you" line was OUCH!
And yes, yes, yes!! I really agree about how alone Sam feels. It's just heartbreaking. I wonder if he'll start lashing out.
