No, you can't just show up.. you have to make reservations. Though you can make it a day in advance if they have space. Two weeks in advance is what most people do. It costs $35 for the two hour tour and close to a $100 for the 4 hour tour. And if you take one of the last tours, they usually let you hang out at the gift shop for a while before leaving. I've done it once on one of the earlier tours. Not much to see, but it's cool to hang out.
With video cameras, they'll take them and give them back to you at the end. Digital cameras are cool because you can take videos with them.
