| Well, this is gonna sound like sheer idiotic whining, but we caught the tail-end of Ike up here in Quebec today. Unusual amounts of precipitations in some areas, but mostly gale winds. The power was knocked out in areas all over the province for portions of the day, some areas are still getting it back as we speak but are expected to get it back very soon.
And, in Montreal, ambient moisture levels were so high that the condensation in the metro system ground the system to a halt this morning. Which, considering hundreds of thousands of people in this city rely on the metro for transportation, was rather annoying.
Like I said, in comparison, it's just whining. It is a testament to how strong these things are, though, if you consider how far their impact is felt even after they've hit land. __________________ Sunny "The work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die." avie by Jessie |
