| Quote: | I think that Steve has chosen a lot of diverse roles... Dan in Real Life, Little Miss Sunshine were both great movies. Granted, Evan Almighty was the best choice, but Get Smart was a a fun movie, and Steve was great in it. | I agree with most of this. And I do amend my remarks some because I think that Steve has made the best choices as far as scripts AND box office go. But then I'd guess he probably gets about double the scripts sent to him than the other three since he was a name before he came to the show. However, some of his bigger budget things recently haven't really been as great as his independents.
I'd really hate for John, Jenna and Rainn to ... well, not necessarily be "typecast" as their characters on The Office, but to be written off as only television/Office actors. In each of the other projects I've seen those three in, they've done really well with the material they've been given (Jenna is phenomenal in the small role she has in "Blades of Glory"), but they just haven't had good scripts overall. I just don't want John to be known as the guy whose the best part of the crappy movies he's in. |
