| I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in the Hurricane Gustav warning zone. And I'm a Katrina survivor. It's stressful waiting to see what will happen.
We live in these places because our families and our friends are here. We live here because it is home. I love my Mississippi even though sometimes it is a hard place to be.
Although New Orleans was the main focus of news when it came to Hurricane Katrina, Mississippi was much harder hit. Our entire coastline was "slabbed" (meaning that all the homes were completely demolished) and some small towns are gone. It saddens me that Mississippi has been so much left out of the news picture. __________________ Not all who wander are lost. |
