Podmom - I'm here! It's taken me some time to get through all the interesting posts, but I did it! This is such an entertaining, interesting, social, fascinating, wonderful group of women here, I just have to read every word and that takes time when I'm *supposed* to be working!

So, here's a few random thoughts from moi!

I had my dad over for dinner on Sunday. You all know he'll soon be 88 years old, and he loves to read. So one of the things that we find in common to talk about (he's actually quite a quiet man) is books. He's very interested in reading the Twilight books!!! He knew that I was reading them, and he was so interested in finding out what all the hub-ub was about, so he's going to go find them in the library. He's so cute. So how's that for an 88 year old man reading those "adolescent" fiction Vampire books!

My son's an August baby too! His 20th b-day was August 1st. It's amazing to me that he's no longer a teenager. We were at the beach for his birthday, as we have been since he was born almost. We had some of his friends over for dinner, there's a huge group of neighbors who gather for the first week of August in Ocean City, MD, and we stay right over the line in Delaware at Bethany Beach. We had beef barbeque (home made by me!) and cole slaw and fruit salad, all his requests. His favorite cake (he LOVES cake) is a yellow cake with chocolate frosting so I always have to make that. The place that we stay in didn't have any round cake pans so I had to go buy those throw away pans and let me tell you that they make quite an ugly cake when you put the layers together! But it was a yummy cake and he liked it so all was good.

We had two other birthdays while we were there, my niece turned 23 on July 27th, and my cousin turned 32 on August 3rd. So we were always celebrating. My niece loves cake too, so we had a chocolate/chocolate combination for her and my cousin doesn't like cake so much so she had a cookie cake from the bakery. I love summer birthdays!

Did you all hear that Lindsey Lohan is interested in Michael Phelps! Run, Michael, run fast! LOL!

Too bad Laine's going to miss the first semester away from school, Wen. Is she going to work or what? My son's going to stay home and go to community college this semester. Saving me lots of money and preparing him for another try at a four year college. Hopefully University of maryland Baltimore campus. We'll see!

Podmom- I've taken the Cape May - Lewes ferry before and you're right, it's lots of fun! I love Cape May, it's so pretty. I hope you're having a good day with your girlfriends and I agree that food on the beach always tastes better (unless it falls in the sand and then it tastes awful!)

ML - glad MLette had such a good birthday, glad you had a nice time at the fair (I love the animals too!) and sorry about the chapter from hell's reappearance!

Glad too that the tiny American gymnast finally got her well deserved gold medal. They've got to be stupid to think that we believe those tiny Chinese gymnasts are 16 years old. Sure they are.......

Isn't Catherine Zeta-Jones Welsh too? I think she is.
