| LOL, I wish it was just the AC water dripping - we can tell the difference between oil and water - it's motor oil leaking from the car. :< She hasn't called them yet and I'm kind of annoyed - the sooner you get after them about this stuff, the better. But I think she'll get after them and take care of it. I offered to take off work (she works full-time too) and go up there with her, if she wants. But maybe she'll get the BF to go - it's kind of a long drive, but she's done it a couple of times already (bringing the car home, and driving us home after buying it).
Wow, a job that tells you that you can't have time off for a year! Well, I hope at least they give them off all the legal holidays! Companies are getting worse and worse. Although it's lucky to even have a job right now - one of my friends, who did medical transcription at a hospital in Florida, got laid off - and hasn't found another job in 10 months!
WOHOO, my 'Twilight' novel arrived yesterday. Preorder price was about half the cover price, although I thought the paper they printed it on was so cheap, it might as well have been a paperback. I read today that they sold 1.3 million copies of that book in 24 hrs, when it came out (released Saturday). I'm trying to hold myself back, but I did read about 150 pages of it last night. I wanted to take the day off work and just spend it reading - but my bosses are supposed to go away next week, so that wouldn't be too cool.
The old TVs will work (after Feb 09) if you get a converter box for them (or if you have cable, they will work). We have one TV with the rabbit ears and we'll have to get the coverter box for that, or we'll just get 'snow.'
The TV's not too big. It was 26" diagnonal (which seems huge since the last one was 19") BUT, if you do the wide screen/full screen, it stretches stuff out (screen is a rectangle, TV shows are square) - if you use the normal setting, there is a lot of black space on either side so - humm, probably works out to still being about 19"! LOL! I don't love it that much/see much improvement (we don't have HD TV) but the close-caption feature is great for Mr ML. Also has a sound-equalizing setting, so you don't get the blasting loud commercials. It's pretty cool. With all the modern technology coming, I couldn't see getting an 'old fashioned' one, since we had to replace it.
LOL, reminds me of when we replaced our stereo system, and I insisted we have a CD player in it and Mr ML couldn't see why, as we didn't own any CDs yet, but I said "It's the coming thing." And I was right!
I was thinking that, with MLette's car - I wonder, by the time she's ready to sell/trade in her car for the next one - if gasoline/internal combustion engines will have gone out of style and we'll all be driving cars fueled with something else?!
The new hydrogen car is interesting - but only people in 2 or 3 towns in California can buy them (because you need a hydrogen fill-up station and there are onely 2 or 3 towns where those exist right now!) LOL!And people are a little leery of hydrogen since that whole Hindenburg disaster thing (it was filled with hydrogen). Although my family pointed out it's no more explosive/flammable than gasoline!
Hmm, where are those flying Jetson cars they envisioned for us in the cartoons?
I hope Kinsey drops by again! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" |
