Mainstreaming is great for many students. Of course we offer them modifications.
There are, however, several students who are pushed into mainstreaming who shouldn't be there. They really struggle and would benefit much more in a self-contained small class. Unfortunately, teachers are not always listened to and often parents insist on the mainstreaming, much to the detriment of the child. The parent does not always accept the fact that his child has limitations.
