About Home: Jack and Kate. There are so many beautiful words to describe their relationship, their love, and their journey. For the season 4 soundtrack we wanted to create something that was all-encompassing of Jack and Kate's journey for the entire season. From on island to off island what better way to describe their journey than with one simple word? Home.
It's four simple letters that carry so much weight. On island we find "home" used in the literal sense. We followed Jack and Kate in their struggle to finally secure rescue, to make it back home. However, the figurative use of the word should not be lost. Home is not simply a structure, it is a refuge, a place where security is found. In season four Jack and Kate found they are each other's home. Without each other they have no refuge, no security. That is the essence of this soundtrack.
The soundtrack starts with Jack and Kate just as we saw them in 'The Beginning of the End," and we follow them throughout the season all the way up until "There's No Place Like Home." The centerpiece of the soundtrack, "Come Home," is also the last track, and where we feel Jack and Kate's story left off in the finale; their struggle to make it back home, to each other. We hope you all love the soundtrack as much as we loved making it. Happy 400th Coppies!
