And that's precisely why they both needed each other and why they were so good for each other, as partners on the X-Files, as friends, and as lovers. Mulder's desire to believe rubbed off on Scully and made her less of a skeptic, and her skepticism rubbed off on him and got him to be a bit more careful before buying into every little tale of paranormal activity.
They're the perfect couple!
