| I had to come up with a bunch of ways to say just that last semester in one of my classes. It was difficult trying to say why something is funny in a comedy and sad in a drama.
I saw another example of this today when Red told Eric that he would teach him how to play basketball and then made him do 100 pushup-type exercises before actually starting on the playing. That would have been child abuse in a drama, but it was funny on the show. I think it's funny mostly because, as we all know, Eric is a small guy and I can't imagine him actually being able to do that many.
