| Quote: | Personally I think he may have gotten it through a connection to Disney. After all, the former president of Disney, Michael Eisner drives one (not sure if the current President does) so Audi may have some sort of placement deal with Disney. I mean, what's better advertising than having Disney's hottest young actor drive your car? | I don't think this has anything to do with Disney. For one, Audi wouldn't give Disney management a car for advertising - they have no value in that respect. Also, management contracts would always allow a manager to pick his car, not to get one "assigned" (if you're high enough) and that includes the brand.
Also, I don't believe for a second that Zac's connection to Disney is as close as many believe. In contrast to majority of Disney stars like Miley, etc, he doesn't have an ongoing contract for a TV show. All those stars are bound through a talent deal and/or ongoing (multi-year/multi-season) contracts for a show - these contracts determine what they can do outside their ongoing obligations (eg Disney has to give permission for movies outside Disney projects) and therefore they have a much tighter grip on them. Zac on the other hand did sign up only for a DCOM and once that was over Disney had no hold of him anymore. They needed to renegotiate for movie #2 and #3. Would have Disney had an ongoing contract, Zac would not have had the leverage to get them letting him sing in #2 or get the money he did in #3. Yes, Zac did participate in several Disney events after the first movie in particular but I don't think that was contractual. It seemed just a good move to promote the first movie and get more exposure. If Disney had a contract with the HSM cast members like they do with stars of their regular TV shows, eg Lucas would never ever gotten permission to do Milk. I don't hear Zac talking about a purity ring (which seems to be a new Disney thing) or doing any Disney related projects outside of HSM promotion. I'm sure he's grateful for the opportunities he got through Disney and he's a great promoter in general but I'm sure Disney would have him doing much more Disney Channel stuff if they had the power (eg do more guest appearances on other DC shows), try to get him to do *some* music even if it's only on one of the Disney compilations, etc.
Zac's team of talent agent, manager, publicist and lawyer are not "Disney shops" and he hasn't been doing any specific Disney meets/events for a while either. I have the feeling that he and his team control his career and not Disney.
What I wanted to say is that in my eyes he does not have any obligations to Disney outside HSM and so I don't think they would have any reason to get him a car. Of course, that's just my personal opinion and you're of course entitled to yours. Quote: Bee, can I just say I love you and your brain ?
(Oh and can I borrow some of your intelligence and thinking skills ? Cos I definitely could use it ) | My brain says thank you, the rest of me is still blushing. |
