The Jacket

Does anyone else remember reading about this as Colin's upcoming movie? I thought the movie just didn't get made, but i was wrong.

Colin was to be casted in the lead role but it was pasted on to Adrien Brody. I just did a search then on Keira Knightly and it seems that she is the co-stars love interest.

Colin and Keira? That could of work.

Colin Farrell is in negotiations to star in Paramount Pictures/Mandalay Pictures' "The Jacket," to be directed by Antoine Fuqua, and the indie feature "Home at the End of the World," for director Michael Mayer.

The actor, in production on Columbia Pictures' "S.W.A.T.," is expected to go into production on "Jacket" in March before segueing to "Home" around May.

For "Jacket," Farrell is expected to receive a payday in the same range as the $8.5 million he \ received for "S.W.A.T."; he will be paid scale for "Home."

"Jacket" is about a man (Farrell) imprisoned for a murder he did not commit. While being tortured, he is able to foresee how and when he will be killed. By moving through altered states, he tries to figure out a way to prolong his life so he can solve his own murder.

Mark Rocco wrote the initial draft, and Massy Tadjedin did a rewrite. Mandalay's Ori Marmur is overseeing the project with Paramount executive Brian Witten.

"Home" is based on the Michael Cunningham novel that was adapted by Keith Bunin and the author. It's about boyhood friends Bobby and Jonathan, who grow up in Cleveland during the '60s and '70s and come from dysfunctional families. Now older, they move to New York and end up living together with an eccentric woman named Clare. The trio lead an unusual life together as Jonathan is gay and Bobby (Farrell) fathers Clare's baby. Also in the picture are the boys' parents and Jonathan's longtime love, who is now struggling with AIDS (news - web sites).

Killer Films' Katie Roumel and Christine Vachon will produce as will Tom Hulce.

Farrell and Mayer are repped by CAA.

I thought it would have been interesting to see Colin in this role, does anyone else think so too?
