| Quote: | Guys, want to post this here:
I think Serena needs Nate. And what surprises me as that the more I read other forums, even of other TV Shows, I realize how many people see NS in a different light after that 30 seconds on the finale... only one little scene.
Serena is beautiful, good, smart, what makes her SO troubled? For me it HAS to be the sacrifice she made as a little girl to let Nate be with B... Lily's "Serena has always had a crush on you..." gave it all... S loves B, why would she betray her trust like she did on the Sheppherd wedding?? Out of love... You just DON'T get drunk and screw your best friend's boyfriend for sport. Not if you have a good heart. And a good heart Serena has indeed!
Then the guilt came along, and Dan. She did fall for him, specially because with him she could escape of her world, and of the reality that she could NOT, coulde nver, be with Nate. Because he's B's. And "You are Blair's boyfriend and, she's MY best friend and she loves you"... We didn't hear a "I don't love you, i don't want to be with you".
Blair means everything to Serena, and with Dan, she found a way to forget about her best friend's boyfriend and be happy with someone else. And for a short time, she was!
However, midway, Blair fell in love with Nate's best friend, because N couldn't really ever give B what she deserved. Because of his undeniable love for S. At the same time, Serena realized her and Dan didn't work, she would never be good enough for him. Ever. Not in her heart and not in her mind.
Nate, in the other hand, loves her when she's good, when she's sober, even more when she's drunk. Nate and Serena are TRUE love... forbidden LOVE... Than can finally be explored!! | She does need Nate--everything you write makes so much sense. I wish this were true! To be Serena, the supposed IT girl, but to have given up your true love for so long. I hope we can peel back time and take a look at how things evolved.
I think this scene was so telling. Nate was a rock. He didn't flinch, not for a second, when she said "she gets frisky" in the summer. He didn't giggle, he didn't stare, he just KNEW how she gets, he didn't think she was being slutty, he looked at her with just utter devotion. He wanted to be there with her and immediately, THEN and NOW. She went off with him immediately because it was like going home for her, she didn't need to think about it either. |
