This isn't addressed to me, but I found this remark interesting. To me, neither Ian nor Jared "represented" Edward or Jacob. See, Edward=Wanderer, the "monster" more good than human, who never thought and expected to find love. And Bella=Ian, the one who loved unreservedly, overlooking the fact that the other isn't even human. There ya go. As much as I ship BE, so I do WI. And in the end, I really don't favor comparing The Host with the Twilight series... so, anyway.  I'm guessing you like Jared. | | interesting thought.

For me it was like Wanderer = loving and selfsacrificing Bella and Mel = longing tempered Bella. And Ian was the best friend like Jake and Jared the man both females long for desperately. Just that Ian is also like Edward and Jared also a little bit like Jake. haha  . of course you cant really compare those charasters cuz they are very different from each other but... I really hoped for Jared/Wanda/Mel in the end. I didnt see Ian coming. I ignored him pretty much and thought he will be just the best friend and nothing more. Like it was supposed to happen at the beginning since SMs plan was to have Jared as the love interest. But she said he wouldnt bend and Ian changed the outcome.
I love this book to death and its right the way it ended. but i didnt see it coming and so for me it was so much more heatbreaking in the end since i cried the hardest when jared said goodbye to wanderer and he really meant what he said. for the first time wanderer felt loved by him. and i tell ya I cried like never before in my life over a book.
