| Best of luck on your interview VB (without jinxing you in any way). The British have a lot of good expressions! Idon't think the US has anything as good as 'not my cup of tea.' 'Not my thing' is pretty blah.
Mr ML has a job interview today at that place that is supposedly a 'sure thing' - at his age, transferring over to a sure thing job would be the best thing for him! Or as he put it: I can work there 12 years and then retire! We were studying the map of how to drive there last night. It's not that far 'as the crow flies' but driving there, you have to cross a river and a turnpike and, well, you can't get straight from where we live to there. (Y' can't get there from here!)
Mr ML Jr has applications out - we'll see what happens. His dad doesn't want him coming to work at the new place with him too - wants him to go out on his own. Which I understand but hey he was driving him to work before, that would be nice to continue.
Ooo coolest thing at work - they are hold 'American Idol' style singing auditions in June, to sing at the summer picnic. I just signed up. Always been mad there's an age cutoff for American Idol. When I was young and sang great, I was too tall (to play singing kid roles, and singing kid roles like Annie weren't written yet anyway), and now I'm nto that tall anymore, just too old. sigh. Anyway, it'll be really fun or a total scene of humiliation, one or the other.
Caught a wonderful 'Quantum Leap' rerun last night on this new channel Ion. Sam leaped into a road company of Man of La Mancha, and John Cullum was the lead - he's a Broadway singer and has a marvelous voice (he was also in Northern Exposure and played Sheriff Valente's father on Roswell). Scott Bakula can play the piano and sing, although he has more of a higher voice, like Mandy Patinkin, not a Man of La Mancha voice, but he did a good job. It was a very cute episode. Gosh I used to love that show a lot. Best thing Scott B ever did, that and be Murphy Brown's boyfriend. ;p Didn't warm up to his turn at Star Trek at all, which surprised me, being a Scott Bakula fan and a Trekker but the two never meshed.
I wish CBS had waited to break the bad news until after Friday's episode of 'Moonlight' so we could have enjoyed it with the same joy and anticipation and excitement as usual. Now it's going to be more like a wake, bittersweet because it's the last one we'll ever see, end of the story before its time, and I think they made it a cliffhanger, because they didn't know this was it.
Like with 'Alien Nation' that series ended with a huge cliff hanger and then the network cancelled them unexpectedly. The guy was so frustrated he went on and did 5 TV movies to complete the story. Don't think Moonlight can do that. People are hoping the CW or some other network picks it up. I don't see that happening, for some reason, but I hope I'm wrong! __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires"
