| Eariler today Ana played the third set of her match against Agnes Szavay that was suspended due to darkness yesterday and she won the set and match 6-3. Good job by Ana to pick up where she left off to get the win. Then she had to play Elena Dementieva in the semifinals, where unfortunately she was defeated 2-6, 5-7. In a way i`m not surprised that this happened, since it was asking a lot for Ana to win two matches in a day and for some reason she has never matched up well against Elena Dementieva, which i find pretty quirky, especially Masha for the most part has beaten up on Dementieva. I guess it`s one of those quirks in the game. So Ana`s quest to repeat is now over with and there won`t be another hottie title win in Berlin.
With the last of our favorite hotties out in Berlin, it`s time to turn the focus to the next tournament in Rome next week, which will feature the return of Masha. The first round of qualifying is underway. Alize and Iveta won their matches in straight sets. Good job by those two. Elena is currently playing her first round qualifying match against Alla Kudryavtseva and she`s up 6-3, 5-0. Good start there for Elena. Hopefully she can win this last game as quickly as possible. It would be nice to see her, Alize and Iveta get in the tournament along with the main hotties like Masha, Ana, Jelena and Flavia.
I`ll be back later with the draw for the Internazionali BNL D`Italia, which was released eariler today. In the meantime, here are some pics from Ana`s matches. |
