Not really in the mood to do my usual episode review/recap, so I'm just going to piggyback on Mel's a bit.

I think that cracked me up more than anything else in this episode! As much as we think Michael's an idiot, he does know how people respond to him. So I just couldn't stop laughing when Michael was just clarifying to Ryan who it was!

Ryan/Jim: Very interesting moment between these two. I liked that. Jim pretending he didn't know what Ryan was talking about (the David Wallace thing) Ryan's veiled threat (watch your back Jim) and his just kidding and Jim's look.
Lots of Christmas references in this episode. Was this their way of letting us know that they've time jumped past the holidays? Even though they didn't explicitly mention it, I assume we've time jumped to the "present" now, right?

Ryan/Kelly: We got a moment! Angry Kelly. I love it. You're right......how dare he.
Kelly speaks! Yes! So excited!

Toby getting the football and Pam saying she knows how to throw a football and Toby's "of course you do". Pam hitting Meredith in the face with the football.
Why do I feel like Toby planted that football there so one day he could "teach her how to throw?" And poor Meredith - she's taking it hard this season (TWSS!)!

OMG, Toby putting his hand on Pam's leg and the look on Jim's face. And everyone else's for that matter. And then him saying he was going to move to Costa Rica and then saying he was just going to hop the fence and jog home.
I couldn't believe they outed Toby's crush so obviously like that! Wow! Now, I'm kinda hoping that the spinoff is Toby in Costa Rica
Spoiler:
And is he the one that is leaving the office as Jenna mentioned in her chat?

Jim calling Oscar as soon as they see the cleaning women at the gate. Didn't go over too well with Oscar.
The way Jim's night was going, I was kinda hoping the cleaning crew would be Asian or something. Just to screw with him more.

Hank getting there after everyone was gone. Jim is so dead!
Oh, I want Hank to screw with Jim so much now!

I find it interesting that here we have Jim in charge again and we find out he's less than stellar.
This was weird to me and I'm thinking that there's more here than meets the eye at this point. And I was a little unsettled by the whole thing because I found it a little unbelievable.

I believed that Jim came up with the idea to stay late instead of coming in on Saturday. (I was kinda hoping that there would be a mention of why they didn't want to come in on Saturday, but would sacrifice a Friday night [date night] - oh well!) I believed that Jim would totally forget to let the security guard know about them working late (even though I have a hard time believing that the security guard just went ahead and locked the gate with like 15 cars left in the parking lot, but whatever). I'll even suspend my disbelief that Dwight's the only guy in the whole office who has keys to the place (even though I've always had the keys to my office).

But then Jim gets the security guard on the phone and he can't string together a coherent sentence? Really?! The guy who's a good salesman because of his charm? The guy who went in and charmed Katy in about 30 seconds? Because now it seems almost pathological that any time Jim is put in charge of something - he turns into Michael. And then we find out that Jim didn't collect the money for the Christmas tip?

So is this to show us that Jim really is the ass that Karen and Katy must think he is? That he is only dreamy to Pam and now that he has her, he's not capable of doing anything nice for anyone else? Okay, I'm being sorta sarcastic here, but I'm just having a hard time wrapping my mind around Jim the Bumbling Idiot.

How sad the office kind of turned on them. And I found Michael's comment earlier in the ep weird when he acted like he thought Jim was still single and seemed surprised he was still with Pam. Just weird.
It made me laugh when Andy polled them about how much better he and Angela are than Jim and Pam. I feel like that was a dig at the fanbase a bit, but I'll allow it

When Michael said that to Jim about thinking he was single, I got a mental flash of him saying that to Jim in like a year and Jim being like, "Michael, I'm not single. I'm married. [flashes ring] To Pam. Six months ago." I think that Michael just can't comprehend a relationship lasting for any length of time because his never do.

I dunno. I was underwhelmed by this episode. I laughed out loud more in the episode than I did in the last episode, but it's not one that I would watch over and over again like the previous two.
