| I heard this at work on jjj radio news... I read 2001 and 2010 back in 1984 during recess and lunch for a few weeks. The 2001 movie is definitely a head spin. Even though he was 90 years old, it is still a shock. I will also remember him for a documentary that has revolutionized technology in many areas. 'Fractals: The Colours of Infinity' is its name. (Colors, if you are from the U.S.) Video enhancing technology such as VirtualDub, Photoshop for pictures, Wii, Xbox 360 and the PS3 also use its principals. There are so many other areas where the Mandelbrot Set have be utilized. I knew that the potential for the devices that could and were made from the algorithms for the Mandelbrot Set was HUGE when I first saw this documentary that Arthur C. Clarke was Narrating back in 1997. __________________ Bring on the Referendum to make Straya a Republic!! |
