That's an excellent point. I certainly hope that's the case. But let me play the pessimist a bit longer and give you my negative spin.

I think Ben's 'Your Mine' has everything to do with why Juliet doesn't leave the island with him and the O6. The problem I have with Juliet sacrificing her freedom to stay on the island is what is the point of keeping Juliet there while Ben's off playing Dr. Doolittle? I totally see Ben saying if I can't have you, no one can to the extreme of her death. Mostly though, I don't think Jack would buy into Juliet just staying behind. He knows how much she wants off the island, and he would figure that her decision to stay would have something to do with Ben. I don't think he would accept that. I don't know what he could do about it, but he wouldn't agree to it I think.

Also in regards to Jack, I got the impression from TTLG that is 1-2 years before Jack decides he wants/needs to go back to the island. I'd like to think that if someone he cared about was stuck on island he would be a little more pro-active than that. Regardless of how people view Jack's feelings for Juliet, platonic/romantic, he cares about her a great deal. The way I've interpreted his character development, I just can't see him going about his life while he knows Ben has done something to keep Juliet there. Granted I don't know the circumstances behind him leaving and the cover-up, but I still think he'd be more upset or try something. Maybe because Juliet does sacrifice herself that's why he begins to drink. Or it could be the alcoholism that runs in the family. *shrugs*

I really think that Juliet has to betray Jack somehow or she dies. I guess my problem stems from what the hold up is in his decision to get back if Juliet and him parted on good terms and she's still alive.

I can think of a handful of reasons why I think Juliet will live. I suppose I'm in a 'Juliet is doomed' kind of a mood. I hope it changes soon.
