I was thinking, maybe the LP scene at the RC and so Peyton's line "She is great" to Lucas when she gets Lindsey didn't tell him about their "divergences" in the library, it was not meant as a reminder of Miss Strauss "greatness" but mostly as a set up for when (hypothetically speaking) Lindsey will tell the same of Peyton to Lucas, when she will find out about the ring/proposal.
