yeah, his voice reminded me of the episode 409 when Daunte hit Haley and we know how hurt and sad he was at that time
So it really shows that he cares about his family so much and he is deeply affected by any wrong that might come to either of them. He made a mistake and it's very obvious that he regrets it and wishes he could take it back.
As you both said, he's not perfect but the way they show him proves that he is a good guy and he has come so much from the beginnin. And considering the circumstances he grew up in, it's a wonder he's as good as he is!
Lucas: I really felt for. You could see how much Dan has affected him and the strong feelings he has towards that man are so clearly and well shown.
