NBC announce line up for Fear Itself
A stellar line up has been announced on both sides of the camera for NBC’s new 13 episode anthology series Fear Itself, which has just started filming in Canada.
Directors on the show include John Landis (pictured, Breck Eisner and Stuart Gordon, from scripts by writers including Mick Garris and Steve Niles. The cast includes genre stalwarts Brandon Routh, Eric Roberts, John Billingsley and Shiri Appleby.
Fear Itself was described by Lionsgate president of programming Kevin Beggs to Variety as a "scary, creepy and cool show that, when viewers are flipping through the channels, will [make them] stop and look. The money is on the screen."
The format is a reworking of the cable series Masters of Horror, with many of the writers and directors carrying across from the Showtime series, and is expected to premiere later this year.

Lionsgate will start production on the horror TV series Fear Itself in Edmonton this December for a 13-episode NBC TV run.
The series will be the first Lionsgate production to be produced in Alberta in a two-year deal worth $9 million that includes financial assistance from the province.
Premise of the series gathers up auteur horror filmmakers to each direct a 60-minute signature episode.
The series will debut summer 2008.
