| LOL, the ads below are now about Moms and Learn Hebrew (and Greek!)
You gals have been busy chatting!
Yes, YouTube is the best thing since the Internet, especially for fans - you never have to be upset you missed so-and-so (cough Jason cough) on some show or other, because some dear person will have taped it and posted it on YouTube! I remember being upset recently I'd missed something and - oh wait, I bet it's on YouTube (and it was). No more having to tape stuff and then copy the tape and send it to people, etc. Ah yes, another 'good old days' thing!
I've heard Natasha Beddingfield's name, but didn't know her music. I love 'unplugged' versions - we have a radio station that plays 'Acoustic Sunrise' on Sunday mornings, when I'm driving MLette to work and we always enjoy that in the car.
Mr ML is already getting hard of hearing, probably because he listens to music with headphones while he plays on the computer all night long, and he always turns the TV up louder than the rest of us like it. It's not too loud yet (not like Viv or Scotti's Dad!), but not heading in a good direction! I worry that the iPod generation is all going to be deaf as haddocks before they hit their 30s. (That's one of my grandad's great expressions: deaf as a haddock I don't know why haddock's can't hear better than any other fish.)
TV on all the time gets on my nerves too - I like peace and quiet. Although I know lot of people keep it blaring all the time for 'company.' If Mr ML has to wait for me like 1 second, while I put on my shoes - snap - the TV goes on and he starts watching it, even if we're on the way out the door!
LOL, that little pug licking the screen is so adorable. Too funny! I wonder how they get those animals to do that stuff, or is it just animals being weird.
Oh that Bikram fast yoga in the hot room has always scared me! For one thing, I'm useless in the heat and to me, yoga is all about slow, graceful, mellowness (the stuff I did was Iyangar yoga). It just sort of seems like the step-aerobics version of yoga, very aggressive and competitive! But I'm curious to hear how you like it.
I think Devon G had curly frizzy blond hair when he was on Roswell too - but memory is so dim about this stuff. I wonder if Majandra has mellowed out with age or is still the same eccentric diva she was when she was young. At least that's the impression I got of her: high maintenance.
LOL, my parents also used Yiddish when they didn't want kids to understand stuff. Secret Parent Language! When I studied German in school I suddenly started to understand Yiddish, because it's a mix of German and Hebrew - it was like a lightbulb going on!
Cool ani of the dolphin - more like blowing water smoke-rings than kisses. Dolphins are such cool creatures. I often wonder what some of those sea creatures think of us. Probably better not to know!
Your poor legs Wen! It does seem like your Mother should become familiar with the word NO once in awhile. Just for your own good, and hers too. Two little letters: N-O. When my sister in law taught preschool, she'd get kids 3 and 4 years old who had literally never had their parents tell them 'No' in their lives, and then sent them off to school! I bet she was very happy to retire recently! I know a lot of people who have gotten out of teaching because the kids today are just unbearable. I don't know where we've gone wrong - maybe it was Sesame Street - maybe that gave them the teeny tiny attention spans?
My hat is off to anybody who can stand on their feet and work all day, never mind wearing high-heel shoes! I have never been a very good stand-er. Even when we're outside, talking to our neighbor across the street - I just can't stand and stand like that - I can't stand up half as long as our 90 year old neighbor we were talking to. Nope, never been good at standing for a long time. So I guess 'stand up comedy' is out as a profession. Maybe sit-down comedy. ;p
I don't know if Diablo Cody is her real name or her, um, professional stripper name and she kept it to write screenplays. LOL, there's that thing where you take the name of your first pet, and the street you lived on as a kid, and put them together and that's you 'stripper name.' LOL, I could be Myrtle Myrtle - I think we had a turtle named Myrtle, and when I was born, my parents lived on Myrtle street.
Or Toddy Noyes? Or Oscar Beaumont? (That would be a good actor name, if I was a guy). giggle. We moved a lot - and had assorted pets.
sigh- I think my best friend and I, who have been friends since we were about 12, are having a falling out and starting to not be friends anymore. Hard to explain, just a feeling. She wanted me to take a trip with her in April (our birthdays) to visit the dog shelter in (middle of nowhere) Nebraska where our dogs come from. To me, that sounded about as fun as a root canal! sigh.. maybe it's just more of this midlife not being up to par stuff and this will pass too...
We had SNOW last night - totally unexpected (at least by me and my family) little snowstorm. It was fluffy and easy to shovel but - more snow! I'm nervous we'll get another storm next weekend and my plane won't fly to my trip! Just checked the weather and it's not as warm down there in Florida as I expected, so maybe it won't be too bad a shock to my system to fly there for the weekend. So hard to know how to dress and pack, travelling between climates like that. (LOL, I bet that 'Jumper' guy in the movie was always coming down with colds - Jump - Egypt! - Jump - England! LOL! Achoo!)
MLette has a cold right now too - hoping she keeps it to herself for another week, anyway!
OK, mountain of work, ought to get back to it!
Oh I am so bummed! Just read that 'Moonlight' isn't coming back April 11 now - not coming back until April 25. But then 4 weeks of episodes to finish up May 16. Wah! April 25 is way too far away - 2 months! Next day: Where is everybody?
Saw an commercial for 'New Amsterdam' on Fox last night - starts Tuesday night, looks very cool (immortal cop - not a vampire, not a highlander, just immortal shrug). Well, I give it 7 shows (since that's how many they made!) LOL! The star guy is from Denmark, which is pretty interesting. Aside from Victor Borge, we don't get too many Danes.
Eli Stone was very good again - I just like it. Mr ML keeps trying to figure out what it is about the show he doesn't like, but while he does that, he's watching it. And I taped Lipstick Jungle and fast forwarded through it and Paul Blackthorne and Brooke S doing the naked nasty in the laundry room - hello! What a pornish show this is at times. I feel so bad for Paul B - well, glad he's working and got a great job on a major network show and all but he never buttons his shirt - he's just the sex and (married older guy scruffy) beefcake on this show and it's sad, he's such a fine actor (but he does look pretty fine without his shirt too, in a messy hairy sort of way, and then there's always the British accent) ahem. the young boy toy had his clothes on this week but a lot of soulful puppydog eyes. He's really not that good looking, when he has clothes on. But then again, nobody is that good looking, on that show! LOL! Even their names are annoying - Victory? Nico? sigh. I should stop taping it, but I'm just fascinated to see Paul Blackthorne do gratuituous sex and nudity week in and week out like that. heh __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires"
