Title: WHEN IN ROME, Feature Film. CAST, Beth Martin; PROD, Benny Medina, Gary Foster, Jeff Pollack; DIR, Mark Steven Johnson. Contract: SAG. Shoot Dates: March 31, 2008 (in New York, NY & Rome, Italy). STORY: During a short trip to Rome, Beth Martin stealing a handful of coins from the Fountain Of Love and as a result, the seven people who tossed those coins in the Fountain all fall wildly, hopelessly, irritatingly in love with her. Breakdown-- Stay Harper: Mid-Late 20s, any ethnicity. Beth's quirky assistant at the Guggenheim, and her confidante as well, Stacy helps Beth with all her complicated tasks, but doesn't appear to have Beth's profound grasp of art history. She shares Beth's fear of Celeste, and manages to vanish whenever Celeste looms on the horizon. A hard worker who follows every detail of Beth's battle against her seven suitors, Stacy is overwhelmed when the Circle Of Gold soiree begins and Beth is nowhere to be found. Lead; Antonio: Mid 20s-Mid 30s. Antonio is a charming appealing young Italian artist who becomes one of Beth's fanatical suitors. He abandons the love of his life to fly to New York and pursues her with an obsessive ardor that is more charming than scary -- but when he paints an enormous wall mural of Beth outside the Guggenheim, it looks as if he's gone a little too far. Comedic skills essential. SEEKING ITALIAN MEN WITH FLUENT ENGLISH AS WELL AS MEN WHO CAN PLAY ITALIAN WITH EXCELLENT AUTHENTIC ACCENT. Supporting Lead; Lance Blackstone: 30s. Lance is a street magician like Criss Angel, expert at performing spur-of-the-moment card tricks that have a dark and gory twist at the end. A little creepy and definitely off-kilter, he's the second of Beth's love-crazed suitors, and he's the kind who uses his magical skills to pop up at the damnedest times. Supporting Lead; Gorgeous Guy: Mid 20s-Early 30s. This gorgeous guy initially appears to be a shirtless construction worker, with an eight-pack on his abs. The kind of guy whose rippling muscles make secretaries swoon, he is not a construction worker himself, but another of Beth's loopy, lovelorn suitors. When the spell wears off, he returns to his true love: his reflection in the mirror. Supporting Lead; Jimmy Sue / Susan Muncey: 30s. Beth's fifth love-crazed suitor, Jimmy Sue is a very butch woman, very cute but suddenly lesbian, a Harley-driving woman whose tattoo reveals that she is "Born To Ride Beth." Oblivious to the fact that Beth is heterosexual, Jimmy Sue is compelled to pursue Beth fruitlessly – until the spell wears off, and she returns to her husband and her kids, and takes back her real name of Susan Muncey. Supporting Lead; Oliver Connors: 8. A sweet-faced but intense little boy, wearing thick glasses and the coat and tie of a fancy private school, Oliver is Beth's sixth suitor. Baffled by the fact that he's fallen hopelessly in love with a woman about three times his age, Oliver is a trivia hound with an earnest manner. Supporting Lead; Jack Martin: 50s. The father of Beth and Joan, Jack had a happy marriage to Priscilla -- but it didn't last, and Jack's gone on to a series of casual flings with women half his age. But in his own odd playboy way, he's got a lot of wisdom on the subject of love and marriage, and he urges his daughter to share in the passion and the risk of giving her heart to another; Priest: 40s-50s. A rather peculiar looking Italian priest with a comical, lop-sided smile, he marries Umberto and Joan, and acts a little strangely at the reception, seeming to flirt with Beth. Later, when she returns to Italy to marry Nick, the reason for his odd behavior becomes clear: he is the seventh of Beth's lovestruck suitors, delighted when her wedding is called off at the last minute. A sleepy-eyed stoner, Jimmy is a freelance photographer, a dazed paparazzi who sells snapshots to USA Today. A buddy of Nick's, he agrees to follow Beth around town covertly and document her daily life to help Nick figure out how to win her heart. He later bails Nick out of jail; Mrs. Beaks: 50s.
