PORT Fairy is still buzzing after Hollywood star Adam Brody made a surprise stopover in the town.
Brody and a woman believed to be his new Aussie girlfriend Teresa Palmer were spotted dining at Ramella's Cafe Restaurant on Bank Street.
The star of the now-defunct Channel Ten melodrama The O.C. told autograph-hunters he was just passing through Port Fairy.
Ramella's waitress Leah Habel, of Koroit, was among the first to spot Brody when he entered the restaurant on Wednesday night.
"I didn't (recognise) him straight away but after I served him I recognised him," Ms Habel, 18, said.
The O.C. fan said it was the actor's laugh that confirmed his identity.
"I did get to talk to him, which was a bit intimidating.
"We were just talking about the food. He ordered the crispy barramundi."
Ms Habel eventually plucked up the courage to ask for an autograph and Brody obligingly signed the back of her docket book.
"I think it's pretty cool. I rang all my friends afterwards and they were screaming.
"It was a bit strange. A few people didn't believe me but I have the proof.
"A few young people were getting autographs from him.
"He was really friendly and really nice."
Ms Habel said she had long been a fan of The O.C. and although Brody's character Seth wasn't her favourite character, he probably would be now.
A Port Fairy man, who wished to remain anonymous, said he procured an autograph from the star for his sisters.
"Yeah, they were pretty excited," he said.
"There were other people in the restaurant and a few others asked for autographs."
Brody was spotted dining with Palmer in Potts Point, Sydney, on Saturday night.
Palmer, a fellow actor who was previously connected to Spider-man 3 star Topher Grace, met Brody on the set of their upcoming superhero film Justice League Of America.
The movie, which isn't due for release until 2010, has Brody as The Flash and Palmer as villainess Talia Al Ghul.

While they are bound to be disappointed by the news, Brody and Palmer have been making the most of their time in Oz.
As well as being spotted together at Potts Point noshery Lotus on Saturday night, it has now emerged they also took some time out to check out a bit of Oz last week, travelling along Victoria's Great Ocean Rd.
The pair had dinner at Ramella's Cafe Restaurant in the picturesque coastal town Port Fairy last Wednesday.
"They definitely looked like a couple - he put his arm around her at the end," waitress Leah Habel said.

ADAM Brody will have a lot of spare time now that filming of Justice League of America has been put on hold - and Confidential knows how he will spend some of it.
The OC star was spotted buying a copy of Summer Heights High in the ABC shop at Westfield Bondi Junction on Wednesday.
Given one of the show's characters Jamie actually talks about Brody in the DVD's special features, we're guessing an Aussie buddy recommended he check it out.

Well Technically hes two towns over. But they are little towns so technically I could run into him! We never never get celebrities here so its really cool
He is in town with his aussie girlfriend Teresa Palmer. I bet he is loving it! He has been spotted at a Video Ezy store in Salamander Bay and is no doubt staying in Nelson Bay which has an awsome Marina, beaches,Whale / Dolphin watching cruises, hotels and restaurants. It is summer here and the weather has been beautiful. The last two days have been raining hard but I bet he is having just as much fun indoors with Teresa lol
Adam is in Australia to film the movie Justice League where he will play The Flash.
If I am lucky enough to run into him I will post a pic for sure.
