I saw this as "Laws of Motion" in a focus group screening in NYC. It's a good independent film if you've never seen an independent film before. The plot is the generic "siblings whose parents screwed them up learn to become adults."
Perry and Graham aquit themselves nobly. Goodwin is truly superb. Ben Foster is in desperate need of direction. (One expects more from Craig Lucas in that regard.) Foster has demonstrated that he is a truly capable actor, but here he's left to do what is fast becoming a trope: the mannered-and-wacky-but-so-sympathetic "Ben Foster" character. Worst of all (as noted above), Hilary Swank's character is in a completely different movie from everyone else's character.
