| Hey all, Merry almost Christmas! LOL, Mr ML in his own little world thought we could go out shopping yesterday (Saturday, last weekend before Christmas) and it wouldn't be a zoo because it was 'early' (10 a.m.!) Hahaha. Just because he likes to sleep til noon on weekends doesn't mean the rest of the world is sleeping. I should have bet him some money on that one (but betting with your husband is sort of counterproductive, as its the same money). Then he tried going out in the afternoon to a different place - same story. Couldn't even get into the mall parking lot, never mind find a place to park. We ended up eating a very early dinner out (restaurant near the packed mall) and scooting home instead. He and MLette ended up going back out at 10 p.m. and found a parking spot and she got what she needed (for somebody at her work) before the store closed up for the night! He still needs to get something for one nephew (he said he'd take care of it because I was freaking out too much about it) so - not my problem anymore!
Just have to do some wrapping - well, a lLOT of wrapping , but I don't mind that. I've mostly had my nose stuck in a book lately - I already read 2 of the 3 new Tanya Huff novels I got in a few days and I'm itching to start the third/last one. Boss is on vacation and I only worked a 1/2 day on Thursday and Friday. VB you should watch 'Journeyman' anyway because it's cool and they probably had 10 or 12 episodes (I don't know). They had one short season and it was very cool and interesting. Good time travel science fiction. I think you'd like it - even knowing you won't have years and years of it to watch. I think it's worth watching.
LOL Podmom the cat in the basement. Hopefully her cat allergy is like mine and as long as I don't pat them (and rub my eyes afterwards) I'm usually fine with them. It's too bad because I love cats - but I'm allergic to them.
Christmas is going to be so nice with your girls! And the cat will be upset wherever he (she?) is, not being at home. And better not underfoot with guests stepping on the tail.
I just heard from my dad (because why would my brother bother talking to me?) that my niece in California got accepted to a bunch of colleges (her big interest is Shakespeare so is anybody surprised?) Just hope they get a lot of good scholarships for her because they are so broke. Maggie have a wonderful trip to Van and a great Christmas - safe travels! Will miss you!! Beautiful photo (I think one of yours?) too. If you see Ms Kalaya, say hi for me too.
We have had snow and more snow. Now it's warming up and softening up. Mr ML has been out shoveling like a fiend. He's decided to make a parking spot out front, so when the family comes for Christmas Eve to our cousin's across the street, at least one of them can park there. The snow bank in front of our house is probably 5 or 6 feet wide and about 3 or 4 feet high! He is nothing if not ambitious/energetic. Parking this time of year is a cut throat business - literally. People put stuff in the parking spots they've shovelled out (garbage cans, old chairs etc) and if you move those and park there - you might well be killed or at least your tires slashed. Although maybe not around here in the 'nice' neighborhood - but I wouldn't count on it not happening! People have been killed over winter parking spots. Anyway, we are very lucky to have a driveway and can park off the street, and we've had both cars squished into the little driveway since ths snowstorms. Personally, I don't plan to drive the car again until the tulips come up!
Oh Wen that's so awful your mother filled your head with horrible stories of rats (not untrue stories, but still, not something kids need in their heads) especially when you had them scritching in the walls. SHIVER! I really really don't like rats at all - too big, too creepy a tail - mice I can deal with. Hugs!
LOL, thanks for the flying pizza video. Too funny. My friend sent me a video of cats doing hysterically funny things (but I think it's too big to link here). I laughed and laughed. Cats certainly can get themselves into silly situations (and of course then act like they meant to do that and look haughty afterwards).
I had a big plan to bake a cranberry topped cake for Christmas - guess what - no cranberries at the grocery store! Oh well, it might end up being brownies instead. Was thinking I should get my lazy butt in gear, but all I want to do is curl up with a good book. __________________ Jason B is #1 with me "I'm with the vampires" |
