Hi Everyone!

I was so glad to see you all posting today. (Worried Rosmom Syndrome strikes again!) I get so worried when something like this major storm hits and I anxiously await for everyone to post and say that they are all right! So, I'm glad to know that you all are safe and sound.

Gosh, those icy sidewalks tho'! Please be careful MyrnaLynne. I don't want not even a single hair on your head hurt!

And Petco has little booties for dogs to help protect their little feet. It might be worth a look-see for Elmo to protect his paws.

Years ago, when I still lived in MA, I had my Vanilla (my beloved German Shephard) and her paws used to get so trashed with all that salt and ice cutting up her paws when I took her out to go potty. My poor girl. She never complained, but would lick and lick her wounds, and of course it was a bugger to get her to stop licking when I had to put the medicated ointment on her.

I used to end up wrapping her feet up with face clothes and then plastic bags over them and she HATED it, but she got kind of used to it while I took her out to go potty. She used to pick her feet up so high while walking and would try to shake those contraptions off of her feet. And she'd look at me like I was CRAZY! My poor girl. LOL! Gosh I miss her... Brought her to CA with me too, and I had her for 17 yrs. She was such a Great Girl! (sigh)

Oh, about my new chair... MOTHER helped chip in with me so I could 0get it. She didn't pay for it totally, but I appreciated her chipping in with me so much!

On Christmas Eve, we all go up to my Bro's and kind of do a Yankee Swap but different. We sit in a circle and there are a pile of wrapped presents (provided by my Bro') on the table in the middle of us. Then we roll a pair of dice in a cup and when a person rolls doubles, they get to take a present. Then once all the presents are taken, then a 5 or 10 minute timer is set and we continue to roll and if a person rolls doubles, they get to steal a present from anyone that they choose. It gets pretty intense as the minutes count down! LOL!

Then after the timer goes off, everyone opens there presents and you never know what you're going to get with my Bro's strange sense of humor! Oh, and there is always a lump of coal too for the unlucky one that chose that gift! LOL!

I must say, we do have fun with that game!

Oh, and the gifts,... sometimes it's wonderful chocolates, and sometimes it's a cheap plastic raincoat! LOL! You just never know what you are going to get! LOL!

Then after all the presents are opened, that's when the bargaining starts and peeps start swapping each other for presents that they want. It is a fun game.

And of course they have all kinds of munchies to pick on and we have a good time visiting till late, and we usually don't get home till around midnight.

That's when we start putting all the presents under the tree... a tradition started long ago when the kids were little because they were too curious and we just couldn't keep them out of the presents, as they'd peek and shake them and so we just kept them in my bedroom with the understanding that they were NOT allowed to touch them in there, and they didn't.

Then one present was allowed to be opened by the kids... usually a gift from each other, and they'd be happy! Then it was off to bed and then Santa would come and fill their stockings (that I hand made, embroidered & needlepoint), and then Santa would leave them their one gift to each of them, unwrapped of course because Santa doesn't wrap his presents in our house! That way in the morning, they would see right away what Santa brought them under their stocking.

Well, remember the "Final" Lainie took last that she was late for and was super stressed about? She ended up getting an A on it, and a B for the class! Yay Lainie!

She was sure she did badly on it, and she ended up aceing it! LOL! Guess she was too stressed to notice that she was getting the anwers right! LOL!

Scottie, I'm glad to hear that you had so much fun with your friends this weekend, and got to go shopping too! Glad the weather wasn't so bad for you! I tend to worry.

Vero, Don't worry so much about me and my legs because I look at it this way... they checked me for all the major reasons that were life threatening, but all came back negative,... so that's a Good Sign!

And as far as Lainie and MOTHER are concerned, they don't fight all the time... just very often. (sigh) And you are so right...it is tough when it's immediate family!

I hope everyone has a Great Day!

Hugs to All,
Wen
