Milo Ventimiglia turns Web producer

Milo Ventimiglia (at right) may star on NBC’s Heroes but that doesn’t mean he watches it in real time. “I’m much too busy to catch Heroes at 9 p.m. Mondays,” he tells Gayle Carter, one of our Who's News writers. “When I get the opportunity I always grab shows from online sites or buy the DVDs or watch them on TiVo.” So it makes perfect sense that Ventimiglia’s production company, Divide Pictures, has put out holiday-themed Webisodes as its latest project. When the project came his way, Ventimiglia, 30, didn’t think about what platform the material would be viewed on. “I just thought this is great work, exciting stuff.” The darkly funny tales include narration by Ventimiglia, Kristen Bell and Lil’ Jon. Does he think that TV — as we know it — is on its way out? “I honestly do believe people will always watch TV,” says Ventimiglia. “But to ignore the online boom would be a mistake.” So what does he think about the writers strike over compensation for works used online? “There has to be some sort of regulation to help the artist involved in making these projects.” __________________ -Kelly |
