Yes, the holiday pressure this time of year is incredible. It shouldn't be this way, but that's the way it's turned out. Just feel like you can never do enough, you can never get it right, no matter what you do. Just an overwhelming season of feeling totally inadequate! sigh. I really feel like staying home on Christmas and pulling a blanket over my head and skipping the whole thing. But that would be kind of impolite. And life is short - might as well enjoy spending time with my family while they are around. (My friend's sister died over the weekend, so I am thinking about mortality.)

At least now I've got the cards sent. I've got most of the things for my friends bought and mostly wrapped (and still need to be packed and shipped at the post office). sigh. Nothing at all yet for Mr ML's family, or the stupid Yankee Swap - hate it (or my Dad or my brother and Hanukah is over in a couple of days). sigh.

MMm, cinnamon and banana latkes sound tasty (and original!) I've had them with zucchini or sweet potato in them. I really need to make some latkes - Mr ML likes them a lot (since they are made from potato, the Irish national food.)

I think on Christmas the radio station just puts on a tape recording of endless Christmas music and the DJs etc go home - that's why they had nonstop around the clock Christmas music! Actually, I like Christmas music - it's pretty unavoidable, having had it drummed into my brain for 50+ years now. Some of it is the most gorgeous music in the world, or the sweetest. I'm really looking forward to the annual holiday singing next week in the main hall of the hospital - only time of year I can blast away at the top of my lungs and not get any funny looks!

Well the talks for the writer's strike broke down yet again. Looks like they won't settle before Christmas after all. You should check out 'Moonlight' Poddy Fri night, although depending on the strike, there may not be any more shows at all, of anything.
Read that LA is losing $80 million a day in their economy with the strike.

We watched 'Waitress.' Nice indie type movie with Kerry Russell (she is so pretty) and Nathan Fillion (he's not bad either :>). I found it more sad than comedic (woman is poor, southern, pregnant, trapped in a miserable marriage to an abusive controlling jerk). Sadder still is the woman who wrote, directed, and acted in it got murdered in NYC shortly after making the film. She was very talented. sigh. Gosh, I am just full of sweetness and light today - guess I should do some work.

Yet another idiotic and annoying project from Mr Boss (wants me to send out some letters for him, with some documents - which he revised - and expects me to correct before sending - only I don't HAVE those documents. Sure as heck am not going to retype them all... grumble, mutter)

P.S. - Just heard Aaron Behr was on Monk (the Monk Kills Christmas that aired this weekend) - just checked and they are re-airing it Saturday Dec 15 at 7 p.m. on USA - so we haven't actually missed it (yet). It's not Jason on TV but it's his brother - next best thing! LOL!
