QED puts up 'Walled'

International outfit nabs rights to Barton thriller

QED Intl. has picked up international sales rights to the psychological thriller "Walled In" starring Mischa Barton, Deborah Kara Unger and Cameron Bright.
Based on Serge Broselot's best-selling French novel "Les Emmures," story centers on a demolition company rep (Barton) who supervises the razing of a mysterious building and discovers horrifying secrets and past inhabitants entombed within its walls by a vicious murderer.

Film marks the English-language debut of French director Gilles Paquet-Brenner ("Gomez and Tavares," "Les Jolies Choses"), who also penned the screenplay, and represents the first production financed and produced by Leomax Entertainment. Production is under way in Canada on the French-Canadian co-production.

Canadian rights to the film were acquired by co-producer Mind's Eye Entertainment. Canal Plus bought the French pay TV rights, and La Petite Reine acquired the French theatrical, DVD and broadcast TV rights.
